The Samsung Galaxy Watch9 (SM-L345FZKAEUE) is the 40mm LTE model in Graphite, with an embedded SIM for calls, messages and data away from your phone, an aluminium case, a sapphire crystal over a 1.3-inch Super AMOLED rated at 3,000 nits, and Samsung’s BioActive sensor stack. It ships with a Sport Band and a wireless charger.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Three things to check before ordering. First, this is the LTE model with an embedded SIM (eSIM) — there is no physical SIM slot. It works as a mobile watch only if your operator offers eSIM for smartwatches, and many operators require the watch and the phone to be on the same network; Samsung states that LTE availability depends on country and carrier, so ask your operator before ordering. The Bluetooth versions are SM-L340N (40 mm) and SM-L350N (44 mm). Second, it does not work with an iPhone: Samsung publishes Android 13 or higher with at least 1.5 GB of memory, and no iOS support at all. Third, colour depends on size — Samsung offers Cream only in 40 mm and Silver only in 44 mm, with Graphite in both. Note also that Samsung does not publish which strap size, S/M or M/L, is in the retail box; tell us your wrist size and we will check the unit before it ships.

The screen is Super AMOLED, rated to 3,000 nits with a full-colour always-on mode, and it is protected by sapphire crystal rather than ordinary glass. Sapphire is the material that keeps a watch face unscratched after a year of doorframes and gym equipment.
The full BioActive sensor set
Samsung lists an optical heart-rate sensor, an electrical heart sensor, bioelectrical impedance analysis, plus temperature, accelerometer, barometer, gyro, geomagnetic and light sensors. On top of them sit Samsung’s health features: Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index, Energy Score, body composition, blood oxygen, skin temperature and sleep tracking. None of it is intended for diagnosis or treatment.

5ATM to ISO 22810, IPX8 to 1.5 m for 30 minutes, IP6X for dust, and MIL-STD-810H. That is a fuller set than most smartwatches publish, and it is why this watch goes in the pool and on a building site rather than only to the gym.

The Galaxy Watch9 is a straightforward recommendation for an Android user and a non-starter for anyone else, so start there: no iPhone support, at all. Beyond that it is one of the better-specified watches on the market for the money — a sapphire crystal rather than glass, 3,000 nits, and a durability set that runs 5ATM, IPX8, IP6X and MIL-STD-810H rather than one badge. The sensor stack is genuinely comprehensive, and Samsung publishes security updates to July 2031. Three things to be careful about when ordering. This is the LTE model, and its eSIM needs a mobile operator that offers eSIM for smartwatches — check with yours before ordering. Colours are tied to size, so Cream is 40 mm only and Silver 44 mm only. And two of the headline health features carry country restrictions: ECG is listed as supported in Cyprus, but blood pressure and sleep apnea detection are not something Samsung publishes for us, so do not buy the watch for those without asking us to check first.
