Samsung Galaxy Watch8 44 mm — the bigger screen, in silver

1.5″ Super AMOLEDUp to 3,000 nits435 mAh · up to 40 h5 ATM · IP68 · MIL-STD-810H

The SM-L330NZSAEUE is the Galaxy Watch8 in the 44 mm case, in silver, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi but no cellular. It has a 1.5″ Super AMOLED display at 480 × 480 that reaches 3,000 nits, a 435 mAh battery rated at up to 40 hours with the always-on display off, and an Armor Aluminium case rated 5 ATM, IP68 and MIL-STD-810H. It runs Wear OS with One UI 8 Watch.

Compatibility — check before buying:
???? It only works properly with an Android phone. The Galaxy Watch range does not pair with an iPhone. Full functionality — and some health features in particular — assumes a Samsung Galaxy phone. If you use an iPhone, this is not the watch for you, whatever else the specification says.

⚠️ Bluetooth model — no eSIM, no calls without your phone. This part number has no cellular connection. It handles calls, messages and data through your paired phone over Bluetooth, or over Wi-Fi on a known network. If you want to leave the phone at home and still be reachable, you need the LTE version.

⭐ 44 mm or 40 mm? The 44 mm has the larger screen — 1.5″ against 1.3″ — and a bigger battery, 435 mAh against 325 mAh. Interestingly, Samsung publishes the same runtime for both: up to 40 hours with the always-on display off. The larger battery is feeding a larger screen. Choose on wrist size and legibility, not on expected battery life.

ℹ️ About the specification claims we do not print. Two things circulate widely about the Watch8 that Samsung does not publish in its European specification tables. The first is sapphire crystal — there is no cover-glass field at all in those tables, for any Watch8 model. The second is the “Exynos W1000” chipset name; the table gives only clock speeds and a core count. Both appear in Samsung press material. We list what Samsung publishes as a specification, and say plainly when something is not published.

ℹ️ Health features are wellbeing features. ECG and irregular heart rhythm notification are listed on Samsung’s Greek pages, with Samsung’s own note that availability of both may vary by country. These are fitness and wellbeing tools, not medical devices, and they do not replace a doctor.

Best For

✓ A Samsung Galaxy phone owner who wants the larger watch face
✓ Daily fitness, sleep and activity tracking
✓ Anyone who found a 40 mm watch face too small to read
✓ Swimming and outdoor use — 5 ATM, IP68 and MIL-STD-810H

Key Features

A 1.5″ screen that hits 3,000 nits
The peak brightness is what makes this watch readable in direct Cyprus sunlight — the single most practical improvement a smartwatch screen can have. 480 × 480 Super AMOLED.

435 mAh, up to 40 hours
Samsung rates it at up to 40 hours with the always-on display off, or up to 30 hours with it on. In practice, sleep tracking and heavy workout use pull that down — expect to charge daily if you use the watch fully.

A full sensor set
Optical heart rate, electrical heart sensor, bioelectrical impedance for body composition, infrared temperature, accelerometer, gyro, barometer, geomagnetic and light sensors.

5 ATM, IP68 and MIL-STD-810H
Rated for swimming, dust and the military environmental standard. The case is Armor Aluminium.

Dual-frequency GPS
L1 + L5 across GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo — noticeably more accurate than single-frequency tracking in towns and among buildings.

Market Code ⚠️ Samsung publishes no public definition of the suffixes on its European part numbers. What can be verified is which storefront sells which code: this EUE part number is the one Samsung Greece sells, so it is the allocation for this region.

Cover Glass ⚠️ Samsung publishes no cover-glass material field at all in its European specification tables for the Watch8 range — not for this model and not for the Classic. “Sapphire crystal” appears only in Samsung’s press material, which is not a published specification. We do not print it as one.
Processor, Memory & Software
Processor 1.6 GHz, 1.5 GHz — Penta-Core. ⚠️ That is the whole of what Samsung’s European specification table publishes. No chipset name is given. The “Exynos W1000” name appears only in Samsung’s press release, not in the specification table, so we do not print it as a spec.

ECG & Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification Both are listed as features on Samsung’s Greek pages. Samsung’s own footnote there states that availability of ECG and IHRN may vary by country — a general availability caveat, not an exclusion. Samsung publishes no per-country list.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work with an iPhone?
No. Samsung’s Galaxy Watch range pairs only with Android phones, and works best with a Samsung Galaxy phone. There is no iPhone support.
Can I make calls without my phone?
Not on this model. This is the Bluetooth version, with no eSIM and no cellular connection. It relies on your paired phone, or on a known Wi-Fi network. The LTE version is the one that works independently.
44 mm or 40 mm — which lasts longer?
Samsung publishes the same runtime for both: up to 40 hours with the always-on display off. The 44 mm has a bigger battery but also a bigger screen to drive. Choose on wrist size and how easily you can read the face.
Does it have a sapphire crystal?
Samsung publishes no cover-glass material in its European specification tables for any Watch8 model. Sapphire appears in Samsung’s press release only. We will not list as a specification something Samsung has not specified — if the glass material is decisive for you, ask Samsung directly.
What processor is in it?
Samsung’s European specification table publishes only “1.6 GHz, 1.5 GHz, Penta-Core”. The chipset name that circulates comes from Samsung’s press material, not from the specification table, so we do not print it.
Can I swim with it?
Yes — it is rated 5 ATM and IP68. Rinse it in fresh water after swimming in the sea or a chlorinated pool, as with any watch.
Singular Expert Insight
The 44 mm Watch8 is the one to buy if you have ever squinted at a smartwatch. The 1.5″ screen and 3,000 nits of peak brightness are the two specifications that matter most in daily use here, particularly under a Cyprus sun, and the larger case carries them well. What is worth understanding before you choose between the sizes is that the bigger 435 mAh battery does not buy extra endurance: Samsung publishes the same up-to-40-hour figure for the 40 mm too, because the extra capacity goes into driving the larger panel. So this is a legibility and fit decision, not a battery one. Two honest notes. This is the Bluetooth model, so it is tethered to your phone for anything beyond Wi-Fi. And several widely repeated Watch8 specifications — the sapphire crystal and the chipset name — are not in Samsung’s European specification tables at all; they come from press material. We would rather tell you that than repeat them. Browse our Samsung phones or our phone accessories.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You use an Android phone, you want the larger 44 mm face, and you want a well-built watch for fitness, sleep and notifications.

Skip it if

You use an iPhone (it will not pair at all), you want to leave your phone behind and stay connected (buy the LTE version), or you prefer a smaller case.

Also consider

A spare strap and a wireless charging pad. ⚠️ Note that Galaxy Watch7 straps and the Watch8 are not interchangeable — buy straps listed for the Watch8.
