Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ 11″ — 90 Hz and a big battery, sensibly priced

11″ · 90 Hz6 GB / 128 GB7,040 mAhmicroSD to 2 TB

The SM-X230NZAREUB is the Galaxy Tab A11+ in grey with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, Wi-Fi only. It has an 11″ 1920 × 1200 display running at 90 Hz, a 7,040 mAh battery, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and microSD expansion to 2 TB. It is 6.9 mm thick and weighs 477 g, and Samsung publishes security updates for it until 30 November 2032.

Compatibility — check before buying:
⭐ Seven years of security updates on a budget tablet is the headline that actually matters. Samsung publishes a security-update end date of 30 November 2032 in the specification table. For a tablet at this price that is remarkable, and it is the strongest single argument for buying Samsung rather than a cheaper brand — the device stays safe to use for far longer than it stays fast.

⭐ 90 Hz at this price. Scrolling and menus look noticeably smoother than on the 60 Hz panels that dominate this category. It is the kind of difference you notice within a minute of picking it up.

⚠️ There is no charger in the box. Samsung supplies a USB-C data cable and nothing else. The tablet supports 25 W charging, so if you want it to charge at full speed you need a 25 W USB-C charger — budget for one if you do not already have a recent Samsung phone charger.

⚠️ Wi-Fi 5, not Wi-Fi 6. Samsung publishes 802.11ac. On a modern router that is perfectly usable for video and browsing, but it is a specification worth knowing rather than assuming.

⚠️ No NFC and no IP rating. Samsung publishes NFC as “No”, and no water-resistance rating at all. Treat it as a normal, non-water-resistant tablet.

ℹ️ Two things Samsung leaves out. The specification table names no chipset — only “Octa-Core 2.5 GHz + 2.0 GHz” — and publishes no screen brightness figure. It also gives no number of Android version upgrades, only the security-update date. And on speakers, Samsung’s own pages disagree: its UK and Irish pages say quad, its German business page says dual. We flag that rather than pick the flattering one.

Best For

✓ Video, browsing and reading around the house
✓ A first tablet for a student, or a family tablet
✓ Long trips — 7,040 mAh and a headphone jack
✓ Anyone who wants a device that stays secure for years rather than one that is fastest today

Key Features

Security updates published to November 2032
Samsung states the date in the specification table. Very few tablets at this price are supported anywhere near as long, and it is the difference between a tablet you keep and one you replace.

90 Hz on an 11″ screen
1920 × 1200 at 90 Hz. Smoother scrolling than the 60 Hz panels this category usually gets, on a screen large enough for comfortable reading and video.

7,040 mAh battery
A big cell for a 477 g tablet. Combined with a modest processor and a 1200p screen, it is built for long sessions away from a socket.

microSD to 2 TB, and a headphone jack
Two things that keep disappearing from tablets. Add storage cheaply, and use wired headphones without an adapter — both genuinely useful on a family or travel device.

6.9 mm thick, 477 g
Slim and light for an 11″ screen, and easy to hold for reading.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a charger in the box?
No. You get the tablet, a USB-C data cable, a quick start guide and an ejection pin. The tablet charges at up to 25 W, so a 25 W USB-C charger is worth having — a recent Samsung phone charger will do.
How long will it get updates?
Samsung publishes a security-update end date of 30 November 2032. It does not publish how many Android version upgrades the tablet will receive, only that date.
Can I add storage?
Yes — microSD up to 2 TB, which is the cheapest way to add space for films and photos. The built-in 128 GB leaves about 105 GB free after the system.
Does it have a headphone jack?
Yes, a 3.5 mm jack. Increasingly rare, and useful on a tablet that will be handed to passengers and children.
Is it waterproof?
Samsung publishes no IP rating for this tablet, so treat it as not water resistant.
What processor does it have?
Samsung’s specification table publishes only “Octa-Core, 2.5 GHz, 2.0 GHz” and names no chipset. Samsung’s press material names a MediaTek part, but as that is not in the published specification we do not list it as one.
Singular Expert Insight
The Tab A11+ is an easy tablet to recommend for what it is, provided you buy it for the right reasons. It is not fast — Samsung will not even name the chipset, which tells you where its priorities lie — and it is not a laptop replacement. What it is, is an 11″ screen at 90 Hz with a 7,040 mAh battery, microSD expansion, a headphone jack, and a published security-update date of November 2032. That last point is the one worth paying for: a cheaper tablet from another brand may match the specification today and stop receiving patches in two years, at which point it is a device you should not be putting a bank app on. Two practical notes before you order. There is no charger in the box, so add a 25 W USB-C charger if you do not have one. And do not expect water resistance or NFC — Samsung publishes neither.
