Samsung Type-C USB Flash Drive 512GB, USB-C 3.2 Gen 1, 400MB/s Read 110MB/s Write, Five-Proof, Blue (MUF-512DA/APC)
Samsung Type-C USB Flash Drive 512 GB — 400 MB/s read, 110 MB/s write over USB-C only
The MUF-512DA/APC is Samsung’s Type-C™ USB Flash Drive at 512 GB in Mystic Blue. Samsung rates it at 400 MB/s sequential read and 110 MB/s write at this capacity, over a single USB Type-C connector. This is the USB-C drive in Samsung’s range — a single Type-C connector, with no USB-A end. Samsung’s official name for it is simply the “Type-C USB Flash Drive”: there is no BAR, FIT or Plus in it, whatever a retailer listing may call it. Samsung’s colour name for this one is Mystic Blue; the identical drive in Grey is sold as MUF-512DA4/APC. It measures 33.7 × 15.9 × 6.4 mm and weighs about 3.4 g.
1. The write speed. Samsung’s regional product pages quote read speed only and say write is “lower than read speed”. The 110 MB/s figure comes from Samsung’s own launch announcement for the 512 GB drives, which states 400 MB/s read and 110 MB/s write across the BAR Plus, FIT Plus and Type-C lines. We publish it and tell you where it comes from.
2. The temperature. Samsung’s pages show −25 to 85 °C, but that is the temperature-proof survival claim, not an operating range. The actual operating range is 0 to 60 °C. Listings that print −25 to 85 as the operating spec have confused the two.
3. USB 3.1 versus 3.2 Gen 1. Samsung’s own page URLs still say “usb-3-1” while the specification table says USB 3.2 Gen 1. These are the same 5 Gbps standard under two names — the USB-IF renamed it. Neither label is wrong; we use the current one.
