SanDisk Cruzer Blade 64 GB — 3 Grams, Capless, USB 2.0
64 GBUSB 2.041.5 x 17.6 x 7.4 mm, 3 g5-year SanDisk warranty
The SanDisk Cruzer Blade is a 64 GB flash drive in a slim black-and-red body measuring 41.5 x 17.6 x 7.4 mm and weighing 3 g — one of the lightest full-size sticks SanDisk makes. It is capless with a fixed connector, so there is nothing to lose. It is also a USB 2.0 drive, which is the single most important thing to know before buying at this capacity.
Compatibility — check before buying:
???? Cruzer means USB 2.0. Ultra means USB 3. That is the rule worth carrying away from this page. The Cruzer Blade, Cruzer Glide, Cruzer Snap and Cruzer Fit are all USB 2.0 drives; SanDisk’s USB 3 sticks are the Ultra family. At 64 GB the difference is not academic — filling this drive over a USB 2.0 link is a job measured in hours rather than minutes, and SanDisk publishes no speed figure at all for the Cruzer line, which is itself the tell. There is a second trap inside the Cruzer range: SDCZ60 is the Cruzer Glide at USB 2.0, while SDCZ600 is the Cruzer Glide 3.0 at USB 3.0. One extra zero in the part number is the entire difference. If you want speed at this capacity, ask us for an Ultra or a Glide 3.0. Two further points: this is a USB Type-A plug and needs an adapter to reach a phone, none supplied; and the connector is permanently exposed — there is no cap and no slider, which is deliberate but means it collects pocket lint.
Best For
✓ Documents, photographs and installers where speed is genuinely not the issue
✓ A cheap drive to hand out and not worry about getting back
✓ Older computers, car stereos and equipment with USB 2.0 ports anyway
✓ Anyone who loses caps — this drive has none to lose
✓ Very light carry at 3 g, where a heavier stick would be noticed
✓ Buyers who want a five-year SanDisk term at the lowest price
Key Features
3 grams
At 41.5 x 17.6 x 7.4 mm and 3 g, the Blade is the thinnest and lightest of SanDisk’s full-size sticks. It is noticeably smaller than the Cruzer Glide, which is nearly 60 mm long.
Capless by design
No cap and no slider. Nothing to lose is the point of the shape — the trade is that the connector is always exposed.
Black and red
SanDisk publishes this SKU as the red version. On a shelf of black sticks that is more useful than it sounds.
Five-year manufacturer term
SanDisk publishes a five-year limited warranty for the Cruzer Blade on its European product page, and its datasheet states five years for all regions outside the United States.

Singular Expert Insight
There is still a good case for a cheap USB 2.0 drive: handouts, documents, a spare copy in a drawer, a car stereo that reads nothing faster anyway. At 3 grams and with no cap to lose, the Blade does that job about as well as anything. What we will not do is let the 64 GB capacity imply capability — over a USB 2.0 link that is a lot of space behind a narrow pipe, and SanDisk publishes no speed figure at all for the line. If speed matters even slightly, the SanDisk Ultra family in our USB flash drives range is the USB 3 answer at similar money, and we are happy to name one. For anything you work from rather than carry, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want the cheapest, lightest 64 GB stick with nothing to lose, the files go on once and mostly come off, and USB 2.0 speed is genuinely acceptable.
Skip it if
You will copy to it regularly, or you assumed a 64 GB SanDisk would be quick. Cruzer is the USB 2.0 line — the Ultra family is the USB 3 one.
Also consider
SanDisk Ultra SDCZ48 for a USB 3 drive at 130 MB/s. SanDisk Ultra Fit if you want something tiny that stays in the port. SanDisk Ultra Flair for a metal body at 150 MB/s.
