SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I 1TB — 200 MB/s Read, 140 MB/s Write, V30

1TB capacity200 MB/s read140 MB/s writeU3 and V30 rated

The SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I is a full-size 1TB SD card rated U3 and V30, published at up to 200 MB/s read and up to 140 MB/s write for this capacity. Part number SDSDXXD-1T00-GN4IN is the 1TB model. It is the practical choice for the large majority of cameras, which are UHS-I rather than UHS-II: at this capacity a card holds a full trip or a full event without a change, the V30 rating covers 4K recording in nearly every consumer and enthusiast body, and SanDisk publishes a lifetime limited warranty behind it.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Check the speed figures against the part number, because this line has a lookalike. SanDisk currently publishes a newer generation of Extreme PRO SD UHS-I rated 250 MB/s read and 170 MB/s write, and its datasheet sits alongside this one on SanDisk’s own site. This card, SDSDXXD-1T00-GN4IN, is the 200 / 140 MB/s version — that is what SanDisk publishes on this SKU’s own page, and it is the figure we print. If a listing elsewhere shows 250/170 against this exact part number, it has taken the number from the wrong datasheet. The other card worth separating out is the Extreme PRO UHS-II, which shares the name but has a second row of pins and reaches 300 MB/s — considerably more expensive, and only faster in a UHS-II camera. Also note the stated speeds require a host or reader capable of reaching them: an old USB 2.0 card reader will cap this card at a fraction of 200 MB/s regardless of the camera. Send us your camera model and we will confirm what it can actually use.

Best For

✓ 4K video in UHS-I cameras
✓ Mirrorless and DSLR bodies with a single SD slot
✓ A whole trip or event on one card
✓ Drones and gimbal cameras that take full-size SD
✓ Photographers who shoot RAW plus JPEG
✓ Anyone replacing several smaller cards with one

Key Features

200 MB/s read and 140 MB/s write, at this capacity
SanDisk publishes both directions for this card, and the 140 MB/s write applies to the 256GB, 512GB and 1TB models. Write speed decides how quickly a burst clears the camera buffer; read speed decides how long the offload takes at the end of the day.

U3 and V30 — the marks cameras check for
V30 guarantees a sustained 30 MB/s minimum during recording, which is the requirement almost every 4K mode in a consumer or enthusiast camera looks for. A camera checks for the class mark before allowing its higher-quality modes, not for the peak speed on the label.

1TB in one card
A terabyte removes card-swapping from a shoot entirely. It also concentrates risk in one place, which is worth a thought for paid work — many professionals deliberately shoot on several smaller cards for that reason.

Built for weather, and two years of recovery software
SanDisk rates this line temperature-proof, waterproof, shock-proof and X-ray-proof, and includes an offer for RescuePRO Deluxe recovery software free for two years. Operating range is −25 °C to 85 °C.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the 200 MB/s card or the 250 MB/s one?
This part number is the 200 MB/s read, 140 MB/s write card — that is what SanDisk publishes on this SKU’s own page. SanDisk also sells a newer Extreme PRO SD UHS-I generation at 250 / 170 MB/s, and because both live on its site the figures get mixed up in listings. If the speed matters to you, ask us and we will tell you which one is in the box.
Will 1TB work in my camera?
Most cameras made in the last several years handle SDXC cards of any size, but some older bodies cap out at 32GB, 128GB or 512GB even though the card fits. This is a firmware limit, not a physical one. Send us the camera model and we will check the maximum capacity it supports before you order.
Do I need a UHS-II card instead?
Only if your camera is UHS-II and asks for a higher class than V30. A UHS-II card in a UHS-I camera runs at UHS-I speed, so the extra cost buys nothing. Check the camera specification for “UHS-II” and for the video speed class its best recording mode requires.
What does V30 guarantee?
A sustained minimum of 30 MB/s while recording, which is the floor almost all 4K video modes require. It is a different kind of number from the 200 MB/s headline — that is a peak, this is a promise not to fall below.
Singular Expert Insight
For most photographers this is the right card rather than the fastest one: the overwhelming majority of cameras are UHS-I, and in a UHS-I body a UHS-II card delivers exactly nothing extra for a much higher price. The number to look at is the write speed, 140 MB/s, because that is what clears a RAW burst; and the mark to look at is V30, because that is what a camera checks before letting you into its better video modes. Capacity is a judgement rather than a spec: 1TB means never changing cards, and it also means a single point of failure for a whole shoot, which is why many professionals still prefer two 512GB cards. The other half of the setup is the reader — a 200 MB/s card behind an old USB 2.0 reader offloads at maybe a fifth of its speed, and a modern one from our card reader range costs very little next to the card.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You shoot 4K or RAW in a UHS-I camera and want a card big enough for a whole trip. 200 MB/s read, 140 MB/s write, V30 guaranteed, and a lifetime term from SanDisk.

Skip it if

Your camera is UHS-II and asks for V60 or V90 — this card will work but will not satisfy those modes. Skip 1TB too if you would rather split a paid shoot across two smaller cards.

Also consider

A UHS-II V90 card if your camera is UHS-II and asks for it. Two 512GB cards if you prefer not to put a whole shoot in one place. A modern card reader, since an old one will bottleneck the offload.
