SanDisk NAS 600 SATA SSD 4TB — flash storage built for NAS boxes that never switch off

4TB24/7 NAS duty2,500 TBW5-year limited warranty

The SanDisk NAS 600 SATA SSD 4TB (SDSNS2400TAB-000G0) is a 2.5-inch, 7mm SATA III solid state drive designed for continuous operation in 24/7 NAS systems, with up to 560MB/s read, 520MB/s write and an endurance rating of 2,500 TB written — aimed at small offices and creators who want a quieter, faster, all-flash or SSD-cached NAS.

Unlike a desktop SSD, it is specified for multi-drive and RAID configurations and for the shock and vibration of a chassis full of drives running around the clock.

Before you order: Check that your NAS model lists 2.5-inch SATA SSDs as supported (many 3.5-inch bays accept 2.5-inch drives via screw holes in the tray, some need an adapter). SanDisk notes that compatibility varies by NAS — send us your NAS model and we will check it for you.

What's in the Box

  • 1 × SanDisk NAS 600 SATA SSD 4TB, 2.5-inch 7mm
  • No mounting screws, 3.5-inch adapter bracket or cables are listed in the box by SanDisk

What It Means in Practice

  • 2,500 TBW means the drive is rated to absorb roughly 2,500 terabytes of writes over its warranty — plenty for file sharing, backups and SSD caching in a small-office NAS.
  • In a 1GbE or 2.5GbE NAS the network, not the SSD, is usually the bottleneck; the gain you feel is in random access — many users opening files at once, VMs, photo catalogues.
  • An SSD array is silent and cool compared with spinning NAS drives, which matters when the NAS sits in an office.
  • Use drives of the same model and capacity in one RAID group for predictable performance.

What Will Not Work

  • It will not speed up transfers beyond what your network link allows — on 1GbE expect about 110MB/s regardless of the drive.
  • M.2-only NAS slots cannot take it; this is a 2.5-inch SATA drive.
  • It is not a replacement for a backup: RAID protects against a drive failure, not against deletion or ransomware.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mix it with hard drives in my NAS?
Yes, in separate volumes or as an SSD cache where the NAS supports it. Avoid mixing SSDs and HDDs inside the same RAID group.
Is 4TB the right size for SSD cache?
For caching, smaller capacities of the NAS 600 line are often enough; 4TB makes sense when the SSDs hold the data volume itself.
Does it work in a desktop PC?
Yes, it is a standard SATA III drive. You simply pay for NAS-grade endurance you may not need in a desktop.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The NAS 600 earns its place where drives run all day with several users hitting them at once — endurance and the 5-year term are the point, not peak MB/s. Confirm your NAS supports 2.5-inch SATA SSDs, and match capacity across the RAID group. For the NAS itself, browse our NAS, DAS and RAID storage appliances.
✓ Buy it if you are building an all-flash or SSD-cached NAS for an office or studio that runs around the clock.
✕ Skip it if you just need a boot drive for a desktop or laptop — a regular SATA SSD costs less for the same everyday speed.
→ Also consider the SanDisk 320 SATA SSD for PCs and laptops, or NAS hard drives when capacity per euro matters more than speed.
Planning a NAS build? Send us the NAS model and how many bays you want to fill, and we will check compatibility before you order.
