Compatibility — check before buying:
A 128 GB card is microSDXC, so the device has to support SDXC — almost everything made in the last decade does, but a very old SDHC-only camera or phone will refuse it. The 140 MB/s figure needs a reader or device that can reach it; the ordinary UHS-I bus tops out near 104 MB/s. SanDisk publishes no video speed class for this card, so if your camera or drone specifically asks for V30, choose a SanDisk Extreme instead.

SanDisk publishes 140 MB/s read for this capacity. It publishes no write speed for the Ultra range at all, only that writing is slower, so we will not quote a write figure. If write speed matters — for 4K video or burst photography — look at the Extreme range instead.
A1 app performance
A1 means the card is rated for 1,500 read and 500 write operations per second, which is what keeps apps installed on a phone card feeling responsive. It is a different measure from the MB/s figure and it is the one that matters for phones and handhelds.

The Ultra is SanDisk’s general-purpose card and it is the right choice for a phone, a handheld console, a dashcam or a Pi — the A1 rating and the included adapter make it flexible, and it is the best value in our SD cards range. It is the wrong choice for serious video or burst stills: SanDisk publishes no write speed and no video speed class for it, so a camera that demands V30 should be given a SanDisk Extreme instead. If you will be copying cards to a computer often, a proper UHS-I reader from our card readers range makes more difference than the card does.
