Silicon Power Mobile C31 16 GB — 3.3 Grams, USB-A and USB-C
USB-A + USB-C16 GB3.3 g, 33 mm long5-year Silicon Power warranty
The Silicon Power Mobile C31 is a 16 GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 flash drive with both a full-size USB-A plug and a USB-C plug, in a diamond-cut metal body that weighs 3.3 g and is 33.2 mm long. A 360-degree swivel cap covers whichever end is not in use, so nothing detaches. Silicon Power builds it with COB construction and backs it with a five-year warranty.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Our supplier data describes this as a USB-C drive. It is in fact dual-ended — Silicon Power’s own specification lists the interface as USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and Type-C, and the product sits in its Type-A + Type-C category. That is good news: it plugs into an old laptop and a new phone alike, with no adapter. To use the USB-C end on a phone or tablet, the device must support USB On-The-Go — Silicon Power says so explicitly and it covers virtually every recent Android device. Silicon Power lists Android 4.1 and later and does not list iOS, so an iPhone is not a supported device here. One honest gap: Silicon Power publishes no read or write speed for the Mobile C31. Its own specification table shows n/a at 16, 32, 64 and 128 GB alike, so no figure appears on this page and any MB/s number you see quoted elsewhere did not come from the manufacturer. At 16 GB this is the smallest capacity in the family; 128 GB is the largest.
Best For
✓ Moving files between an older USB-A laptop and a USB-C phone or tablet
✓ A small dedicated drive for firmware, configuration files or documents
✓ Anyone who wants the smallest possible dual-connector drive — 3.3 g
✓ Keyring or pocket carry where a full-size stick is too bulky
✓ Buyers who value a five-year manufacturer term
✓ A drive whose cap physically cannot be lost
Key Features
Both connectors, 3.3 grams
USB-A and USB-C on one body 33.2 mm long, weighing 3.3 g. It is jewellery-sized rather than stick-sized, and it removes the need to carry an adapter.
360-degree swivel cap
The cap rotates around the body and covers whichever connector is not in use. It never detaches, so there is nothing to lose — and Silicon Power finishes it with a diamond-cut pattern.
COB construction
Chip-on-Board packaging is what keeps the drive this small, and Silicon Power states it also gives protection against water, vibration and dust. No formal IP rating is published, so treat it as robustness rather than a waterproof claim.
Free software, nothing preloaded
SP Widget for the computer, SP File Explorer for Type-C and Android devices with one-touch backup, and Recuva file recovery. All are free downloads; the drive itself needs nothing installed.

Singular Expert Insight
This is the smallest useful dual-connector drive we stock: 3.3 grams and 33 mm, with both plugs and a swivel cap that cannot be lost. If you want one drive that works with a laptop and a phone and you want to stop noticing it in your pocket, this is the shape to buy. At 16 GB you are buying it as a bridge between devices rather than as storage. Two things to weigh honestly. Silicon Power publishes no speed at all for the C31 — not a slow figure, no figure — so if throughput is how you choose, models such as the Kingston microDuo 3C G3 or the Silicon Power Mobile C51 do state theirs, and you can compare them across our USB flash drives range. For large working files, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want the smallest possible drive that plugs into both a laptop and a USB-C phone, you like a cap that cannot be lost, and 16 GB covers the job.
Skip it if
You choose drives on published read and write figures — Silicon Power states none for this model. You need more space, or you need iPhone support.
Also consider
The 32 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB Mobile C31 if 16 GB is tight. Silicon Power Mobile C51 for a dual-ended drive with published per-capacity speeds. Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3C G3 for a stated 200 MB/s read.
