STAEDTLER NORIX 186 C12 Coloured Pencils · 12 Colours
Coloured pencils12 coloursBreak-resistantMade in Germany
The STAEDTLER NORIX 186 C12 is a cardboard box of 12 NORIX coloured pencils in assorted, extra-bright colours. NORIX is STAEDTLER's range aimed at older children and teens (the "10+" assortment), with a new shape, a black pencil design, a soft non-slip surface and high break resistance.
The pencils are made with upcycled wood chips and wood from PEFC-certified, sustainably managed forests, and are made in Germany. They suit school, colouring, sketch notes and hobby drawing.
Before you order: This is the NORIX 186 coloured pencil, not the classic Noris colour 185. STAEDTLER does not publish lead diameter or lightfastness for this model.
What's in the Box
- 12 x STAEDTLER NORIX 186 coloured pencils
- Colours: yellow, red, blue, turquoise, orange, peach, sap green, light olive, fuchsia, lavender, brown, black
- Cardboard box
What It Means in Practice
- High break resistance means fewer broken leads when the pencils are dropped in a school bag.
- The soft, non-slip surface gives a secure grip for longer colouring sessions.
- Twelve bright colours cover most school and colouring needs.
- Single NORIX pencils are available if one colour runs out first.
What Will Not Work
- They are not watercolour pencils; STAEDTLER does not state that the colours can be blended with water.
- STAEDTLER does not publish lightfastness, so they are not intended for archival artwork.
- They need a standard pencil sharpener; no sharpener is included.
- STAEDTLER does not state a triangular body; do not expect the triplus shape.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
For school use the most important property of a coloured pencil is that the lead survives a dropped pencil case. NORIX focuses on exactly that, with bright colours and a grippy surface. See our stationery range for fineliners, fibre-tip pens and highlighters.
✓ Buy it if you want a robust set of 12 bright coloured pencils for school or colouring, made in Germany.
✕ Skip it if you need watercolour pencils or lightfast artist pencils.
→ Also consider STAEDTLER Noris 326 fibre-tip pens for bold colouring.
