The STAEDTLER Noris 512 (512 004BK) is a double-hole sharpener with a built-in shavings tub: one hole for standard pencils up to 8.2 mm diameter and one for thick graphite and colouring pencils up to 10.2 mm, in the Noris flower design.
It is made for school bags and pencil cases, where a closed container keeps shavings off books and desks.
Before you order: Measure thick pencils before you buy: jumbo pencils over 10.2 mm diameter (and triangular jumbo pencils near that size) will not fit the larger hole.

What It Means in Practice
- Standard pencils (typically about 7–8 mm) go in the small hole; thick colouring and graphite pencils in the large one.
- Both holes sharpen at a 30° angle with a metal insert for a clean point.
- Shavings collect in the tub; the hinged cover stops them spilling, and the lid locks so it does not open in a bag.
- Empty the tub over a bin by opening the lid.
What Will Not Work
- Pencils thicker than 10.2 mm.
- Cosmetic pencils and crayons — it is designed for graphite and coloured pencils.
- It is manual only; there is no replaceable blade listed for this model.
