The STAEDTLER 3001 TB36 is a wallet of 36 double-ended watercolour brush pens in assorted colours, each with a flexible brush tip (approx. 1–6 mm) and a fine tip (approx. 0.5–0.8 mm) — for hand lettering, illustration, journaling and watercolour-style colouring without a separate paint box.
The ink is water-soluble, so after drawing you can blend or wash colours with a wet brush to create watercolour effects. STAEDTLER sold this range earlier under the name Marsgraphic Duo; the current name is 3001 double-ended watercolour brush pen.

What It Means in Practice
- Brush tip: line width changes with pressure, from about 1 mm with a light touch to about 6 mm with more pressure — ideal for lettering strokes and filling areas.
- Fine tip: about 0.5–0.8 mm for outlines, details and small writing, on the other end of the same pen.
- Water-soluble ink: go over the colour with a wet brush to blend it like watercolour; STAEDTLER states it works on most watercolour papers.
- Two tips in one pen means fewer tools on the desk — one wallet covers sketching, lettering and colouring.
What Will Not Work
- It is not a permanent or waterproof marker — because the ink is water-soluble, it will run if the paper gets wet later.
- It is not for fabric, glass, plastic or other non-paper surfaces; STAEDTLER positions it for paper, and watercolour paper gives the best results.
- It is not a refillable system — STAEDTLER does not publish refills for the 3001.
- Very thin copy paper will buckle or bleed when you add water; use watercolour or heavier drawing paper for wash effects.
