STAEDTLER Lumocolor 315 — non-permanent universal pen M, box of 8 colours
8 coloursM · approx. 1.0 mmWater-soluble · wipe-offRefillable
The STAEDTLER Lumocolor 315 WP8 is a stand-up STAEDTLER box of eight non-permanent universal pens with a medium tip (line width approx. 1.0 mm) in assorted colours, for labelling and marking on almost any surface — film, glass, plastic, metal and paper — in offices, workshops, labs and classrooms.
The ink is water-soluble: it writes on film, glass and other smooth surfaces and can be wiped off film with a damp cloth, which is what makes the 315 the choice for overhead transparencies, temporary labels and planning boards that change. The ink dries fast and the black pen is lightfast.
Before you order: These are non-permanent pens. Writing smudges with water and wipes off film with a damp cloth — for labels that must survive moisture or cleaning, choose the permanent Lumocolor 317 or 318 instead.
What's in the Box
- 8 × STAEDTLER Lumocolor 315 non-permanent universal pens, line width M (approx. 1.0 mm)
- Colours: 8 assorted colours
- Stand-up STAEDTLER box that doubles as a pen holder
- Refill station is sold separately
What It Means in Practice
- Write on transparencies, whiteboard-style glass or plastic planning boards, then correct with a damp cloth.
- Ideal for temporary labels on reusable containers where the marking must change.
- Airplane-safe pressure equalisation — the pens do not leak in hand luggage on flights.
- The locked tip stays in place even under heavy writing pressure.
What Will Not Work
- Writing is not waterproof — wet hands, condensation or cleaning will remove it.
- Not a whiteboard marker: on whiteboards it needs a damp cloth to remove rather than a dry eraser.
- Not for permanent labelling of cables, equipment or archives — use Lumocolor permanent 317/318.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I remove the writing?
Wipe it off film with a damp cloth. STAEDTLER describes the ink as water-soluble, so dry wiping is not enough.
Does it work on a whiteboard?
It writes on smooth surfaces, but it is not a dry-wipe marker — removal needs a damp cloth. For daily whiteboard use, buy whiteboard markers.
Can the pens be refilled?
Yes, with STAEDTLER refill station 487 15, sold separately.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide

stationery range.
✓ Buy it if you need colour markings on film, glass or plastic that you can wipe off and redo.
✕ Skip it if your labels must be waterproof or permanent.
