STAEDTLER Lumocolor 301 — Whiteboard Pens in Pen Format, Box of 6 Colours
6 coloursMedium ~1 mm8h CAP-OFFDry-wipe
The STAEDTLER Lumocolor whiteboard pen 301 WP6 is a stand-up STAEDTLER box of six slim whiteboard markers in pen format, with a medium line of about 1 mm, made for teachers, offices and homes using small whiteboards, memo boards and glass boards.
Unlike chunky board markers, the 301 has the size of a pen — ideal for writing neatly on smaller boards such as the Lumocolor memo board, school writing boards, planners or glass surfaces. It wipes off dry without residue from whiteboards and smooth surfaces like glass and porcelain. The 8h CAP-OFF ink can be left uncapped for up to eight hours (tested to ISO 554) without drying out, the tip is locked so it cannot be pushed into the barrel, and the pens are fast-drying, low-odour and airplane-safe.
Before you order: These are dry-wipe whiteboard pens, not permanent markers. Use them on whiteboards, glass or porcelain — on paper or porous surfaces the ink will not wipe off.
What's in the Box
- 6 x STAEDTLER Lumocolor whiteboard pen 301: red, blue, orange, green, violet, black
- STAEDTLER stand-up box that doubles as a pen holder
What It Means in Practice
- Pen-sized markers let you write small and neatly — weekly planners, kanban boards, fridge boards, glass desk boards.
- 8h CAP-OFF means a pen left open during a meeting or lesson still writes afterwards.
- Wipes clean with a dry cloth or board eraser, leaving no ghosting on a good-quality board.
- Six colours for colour-coding tasks, teams or topics; the box stands on the desk as a holder.
What Will Not Work
- Not permanent — the ink is designed to wipe off and will not last on labels or plastic parts (use Lumocolor permanent 313 instead).
- Too fine for large wall whiteboards in big rooms — a chisel or bullet board marker is easier to read from a distance.
- Not for flipchart paper or porous surfaces where dry-wiping is impossible.
- Not for chalkboards.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it work on a large classroom whiteboard?
It works on any whiteboard, but with a 1 mm line it is designed for small boards. For writing read from the back of a room, a thicker board marker is better.
Can I use it on glass boards?
Yes — STAEDTLER states it dry-wipes without residue from glass and porcelain as well as whiteboards.
What does 8h CAP-OFF mean?
The pen can stay uncapped for up to 8 hours without drying out, tested to ISO 554.
