The STAEDTLER pigment brush pen 371 C24 is a cardboard box of 24 brush pens filled with Multi Ink — a water-based, translucent India ink made with high-quality pigments — for hand lettering, illustration, sketchbooks, journaling and design work that needs colour that stays put and does not fade.
Each pen has a stable brush nib of medium strength, so a light touch gives a thin hairline and more pressure gives a broad stroke. Because the ink is pigment-based, the colours are extremely lightfast, permanent and waterproof once dry, and you can paint, ink or marker over them without smudging.

What It Means in Practice
- Lettering and calligraphy: the medium-firm brush nib lets you vary line width in one stroke — ideal for brush lettering and headings.
- Mixed media: once dry, the ink will not reactivate under watercolour, markers or further layers, and does not bleed or show through the paper, according to STAEDTLER.
- Archive-friendly work: lightfastness is rated per colour to DIN EN ISO 105-B01, so artwork and journals keep their colour longer than with dye-based felt pens.
- Blending: the colour-neutral blender 893 (sold separately) dissolves the ink for soft gradients while it is still fresh.
What Will Not Work
- Not a watercolour brush pen — once dry the ink is permanent and cannot be re-wetted and blended with water.
- Not refillable, and the box does not include a blender pen.
- Not for textiles or for marking windows and whiteboards — use a dedicated textile or board marker.
- Not a fineliner: for precise thin lines use STAEDTLER pigment liners alongside.
