STAEDTLER Lumocolor 351 B Whiteboard Markers — Chisel Tip, Set of 6
Chisel tip 2-5 mmDry-wipeDRY SAFERefillable
The STAEDTLER Lumocolor 351 B is a dry-wipe whiteboard marker with a chisel tip, supplied here as a set of six assorted colours in a stand-up STAEDTLER box — built for meeting rooms, classrooms and offices that write on whiteboards every day.
The chisel tip gives two line widths from one marker: roughly 2 mm on the narrow edge for text and up to about 5 mm on the broad edge for headings, underlining and filling in diagrams. The ink dries quickly, has a low odour and wipes off whiteboards and other smooth surfaces such as glass and porcelain without leaving residue. STAEDTLER's DRY SAFE ink means a marker left uncapped after a meeting will not have dried out by the next one, even days later.
Before you order: This is the chisel-tip 351 B. If you mainly write small text, the bullet-tip 351 (approx. 2 mm) is easier to control. For flipchart paper, use the Lumocolor 356 flipchart marker instead — whiteboard ink is designed to wipe off, not to sit on paper.
What's in the Box
- 6 Lumocolor 351 B whiteboard markers with chisel tip
- Colours: red, blue, orange, green, violet, black (one of each)
- STAEDTLER stand-up box that doubles as a desk holder
What It Means in Practice
- One marker covers both labelling and bold headings — turn the chisel to switch between the narrow and broad stroke.
- Black, blue and red carry most text; green, orange and violet are useful for colour-coding sticky points, owners or project phases on a planning board.
- Leaving a cap off for a meeting or even a few days does not ruin the marker (DRY SAFE), which matters in shared rooms where caps go missing.
- The locked tip is fixed in the barrel, so it does not get pushed in when someone presses hard on the board.
- The markers are refillable with the STAEDTLER refill station 488 51, so a set can be topped up rather than replaced.
- Airplane-safe design — the markers will not leak from pressure changes in luggage.
What Will Not Work
- Flipchart pads and paper — the ink can mark paper but it is designed to wipe off smooth surfaces; use the Lumocolor 356 flipchart marker for paper.
- Porous, rough or textured surfaces (wood, cardboard, painted walls) — dry-wipe only works on smooth, non-porous surfaces.
- Permanent labelling — this is dry-wipe ink, it is meant to come off.
- Fine detail or small handwriting — the chisel tip is wide; choose the bullet-tip 351 for that.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I refill these markers?
Yes. STAEDTLER lists the refill station 488 51 for the Lumocolor 351 and 351 B whiteboard markers.
What is the difference between 351 B and 351?
Only the tip: 351 B has a chisel tip (approx. 2-5 mm), 351 has a bullet tip (approx. 2 mm). Ink and colours are the same.
Will they ghost on my board?
STAEDTLER states they dry-wipe without residue from whiteboards and smooth surfaces. Old or worn boards can hold traces of any marker; regular cleaning with a board cleaner helps.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The 351 B is the marker to choose when people stand at the board and present — the broad edge is readable from the back of a room, and the narrow edge still handles normal text. If your team mostly writes notes and lists, the bullet-tip 351 set is the better fit. Browse our full

✓ Buy it if you run meetings or classes on a whiteboard and want bold, readable lines plus colour-coding in one set.
✕ Skip it if you write on flipchart paper (take the Lumocolor 356) or mostly write small text (take the bullet-tip 351).
