The StarTech.com SHELF-1U-20-FIXED-S is a 1U fixed cantilever shelf for 19" server and network racks, with a 20-inch (508 mm) deep tray rated for 25 kg — built for people who need to place non-rackmount equipment such as desktop switches, small NAS units, modems, mini PCs or UPS modules inside a cabinet.

It mounts to the two front rails only, so it works in both 2-post open frames and 4-post cabinets without needing rear rails. The shelf is made from 2.0 mm commercial-grade cold-rolled (SPCC) steel and takes just one rack unit of space.

• You gain a flat 20" deep surface inside the rack for devices that have no rack ears — a router, a small UPS, a desktop switch or a mini PC.
• Because it hangs from the front rails only, it fits open-frame 2-post racks and cabinets whose rear rails are set to an unusual depth.
• The M6 hardware supplied matches the most common square-hole cabinets; racks with threaded or round holes need different screws.
• The shelf itself is 1U tall, but the equipment you place on it sets how many rack units you really consume above it.

• It is not a sliding or pull-out shelf — for keyboard or service access, choose a telescopic shelf instead.
• It is not designed for loads above 25 kg or for point loads concentrated at the front lip.
• It is not a 10" rack product — it only fits 19" (482.6 mm) EIA-310 rails.
• It does not include ventilation slots for bottom-venting equipment; a vented shelf is better for devices that draw air from below.
