The StarTech.com ST1000SPEXD4T is a dual-port Gigabit PCIe network card that adds 2 Gigabit RJ45 ports to a desktop PC, workstation or server through a PCIe x1 slot. Each port has its own Realtek RTL8111H controller, and the card is TAA compliant. It uses the 2× Realtek RTL8111H + ASMedia ASM1182 controller and connects at 10/100/1000 Mbps. Full-height bracket fitted, low-profile bracket included. Several ports on one card are the usual building block for firewalls, virtualisation hosts and servers that need separate networks for users, storage and management.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Check the slot: the card needs a free PCIe slot; as an x1 card it also fits x4, x8 and x16 slots. Both a full-height and a low-profile bracket are supplied, so it suits standard towers and slim (SFF) cases. Each port links at up to 1 Gbps with standard Cat5e cabling. It does not support PXE boot.
