The StarTech.com 10G8A2CS-USB-C-HUB gives a USB-C laptop or desktop ten USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports at 10 Gbps — eight USB-A and two USB-C — from a 65 W self-powered box that keeps SSDs, capture devices and phones fully supplied. It is for editing desks, studios and workstations where a five-port hub ran out long ago and every port must keep its speed.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The hub does not charge the laptop and has no video output: the USB-C downstream ports are data and 5 V charging only, with no Power Delivery and no DP Alt Mode. The host is USB-C only (or Thunderbolt 3/4) through the included 1 m screw-lock USB-C cable; no USB-A host adapter is included. The adapter must be connected. StarTech notes the base of the hub can reach 75 °C in normal operation.
