StarTech.com Cable Ties with Mounting Hole — 10 cm, 24 mm Bundle, 8 kg, 100-Pack White
Built-in screw hole100-pack, 10 cm24 mm bundle diameterUL94 V-2 to 85 °C
The StarTech.com Cable Ties with Mounting Hole, product ID CBMZTS10N4, is a 100-pack of 10 cm (4 in) white self-locking zip ties with a screw hole moulded into the head. That hole is the whole difference: instead of only bundling cables to each other, each tie can be fixed to a surface with a single screw or nail — skirting board, wood trim, drywall, masonry, a cabinet panel — so a coax run, an RJ11 telephone line, an audio or video lead, a Cat5e/Cat6 patch cable or a USB cable follows the route you choose rather than sagging across it. Each tie is 2 mm wide, closes on bundles up to 24 mm, and holds up to 8 kg (18 lb). They are moulded in UL-listed Nylon 66, UL94 V-2 fire rated at up to 85 °C, and carry UL file E97527, DNV-GL and ABS marine approvals, RoHS and TAA compliance. StarTech.com covers them with a 2-year warranty. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Two things to size correctly. The tie closes on bundles up to 24 mm in diameter — a coax run, a couple of patch cables, a small loom — and StarTech.com makes larger mountable versions for thicker bundles: CBMZTS10N6 at 171.5 mm for 40 mm bundles and 40 lb, and CBMZTS10N8 at 219 mm for 52 mm bundles and 50 lb. And the mounting is a screw or nail through the head, which means you need a fixing appropriate to the surface — a wall plug in masonry, a suitable anchor in plasterboard — and no fixings are supplied. Two general cautions apply as with any zip tie: they are single-use, so releasing one means cutting it, and overtightening around twisted-pair data cable deforms the pair geometry and can push a Cat6 or Cat6a channel out of specification. Snug, not tight.
Key Features
Built-in mounting hole in the head
The reason to choose this over a plain tie. One screw fixes both the tie and the cable it holds, so a run can be routed along a skirting board, up a trim, across a cabinet back panel or around a doorway without adhesive clips that fall off in summer heat.
Works on wood, drywall and masonry
Fix with a screw or a nail as the surface demands. That covers the realistic range of a small installation job — skirting and trim, a plasterboard wall with a suitable anchor, a masonry wall with a plug — and the tie itself does not care which you use.
UL-listed Nylon 66, UL94 V-2 rated to 85 °C
Material that holds its strength in a warm cabinet rather than going brittle, and self-extinguishes rather than carrying a flame along a bundle. The published 85 °C figure matters where ties sit near equipment that runs hot.
DNV-GL and ABS approved, RoHS and TAA compliant
Marine classification society approvals in addition to UL, which is the kind of certification that decides whether a consumable is acceptable in a shipboard, offshore, regulated or government installation rather than merely adequate.
8 kg tensile strength on a 24 mm bundle
Enough to hold a bundle securely under its own weight when the tie is also carrying it against a wall — which is a real load, unlike a tie that merely gathers cables that are otherwise supported.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the mounting hole for?
Fixing the tie — and the cable it holds — to a surface with a single screw or nail. It turns a bundling tie into a cable clip, which is what you want when running coax, telephone, network or speaker cable along a skirting board or up a wall. No fixings are included, so use a screw appropriate to the surface.
How does it compare with adhesive cable clips?
It is mechanically fixed rather than glued, so it does not let go when the wall gets warm, dusty or damp — which is what adhesive clips eventually do. The trade-off is that you have to make a hole, so it is the right answer for a permanent run and the wrong one for a rented flat.
Can I reuse them?
Treat them as single-use. StarTech.com specifies them as self-locking ties, so releasing one means cutting it — but the mounting screw stays put, so replacing a tie on an existing fixing point is quick. For cabling that changes often, hook-and-loop straps are the better tool.
What size bundle do they take?
Up to 24 mm in diameter with the 10 cm tie. For thicker looms StarTech.com makes the same mountable head in 171.5 mm (CBMZTS10N6, 40 mm bundle) and 219 mm (CBMZTS10N8, 52 mm bundle), with correspondingly higher tensile ratings.
Singular Expert Insight
The mounting hole turns a consumable into a cable-routing solution, and that is worth more than the small price difference over a plain tie. The alternative most people reach for — adhesive-backed clips — works until the adhesive meets a warm wall or a dusty surface, and then the cable ends up on the floor. A screw does not do that. Where these earn their place is in small structured jobs: coax around a room, telephone or network cable along skirting, speaker cable up a trim, cabling dressed to the back panel of a cabinet. Two practical points: no fixings are supplied, so plan for wall plugs on masonry and proper anchors in plasterboard, and do not crush twisted-pair cable in the tie, because a deformed bundle is a Cat6 certification failure that shows up nowhere until someone tests the channel. Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You are routing coax, telephone, network, audio or USB cable along a wall, skirting or cabinet panel and want it mechanically fixed with a screw rather than glued with an adhesive clip.
Skip it if
You cannot make holes in the surface, or your bundles exceed 24 mm — the larger CBMZTS10N6 and CBMZTS10N8 versions cover thicker looms.
