The StarTech.com Mini HDMI to HDMI Cable, product ID HDACMM1M, is a 1 m black lead with a Mini HDMI (Type-C) plug on one end and a full-size HDMI (Type-A) plug on the other — the cable that connects a DSLR, mirrorless camera, camcorder, tablet or compact laptop to a monitor, TV or projector. It is an HDMI 1.4b High Speed with Ethernet cable rated at 10.2 Gbps, supporting 4K at 24/25/30 Hz (and 4096x2160 at 24 Hz), Full HD 1080p at 120 Hz, 3D video, 8-channel audio including 5.1/7.1, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD, plus ARC, Deep Color, HDCP 1.4, CEC and YCC601 colour. Construction is 30 AWG with aluminium-mylar foil and a copper braid shield, gold-plated connectors, a fully moulded PVC body and flexible strain relief. StarTech.com backs it with a lifetime warranty. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Two things to check. First the connector: Mini HDMI is Type-C, the middle of the three HDMI sizes — it is not Micro HDMI (Type-D), which is noticeably smaller, and the two are not interchangeable. Cameras and tablets use both depending on the model, so look at the port on your specific device before ordering. Second the bandwidth: this is HDMI 1.4b at 10.2 Gbps, so 4K is limited to 30 Hz and there is no HDR, no HDCP 2.2 and no 4K 60 Hz. For camera monitoring, playback and presentation output that is exactly the right specification, because devices with Mini HDMI ports rarely output more; but if you need 4K 60 Hz or HDR from a Mini HDMI device, this cable is not the way to get it. It is passive and backward compatible with earlier HDMI versions.
Key Features
Mini HDMI Type-C to full-size Type-A
Solves the specific problem of a device with a small HDMI port and a display with a normal one. DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, camcorders, tablets and ultracompact laptops use Type-C precisely because a full-size socket will not fit — and few of them ship with a usable cable.
4K 30 Hz, 1080p 120 Hz and 8-channel audio
The full HDMI 1.4b feature set at 10.2 Gbps: UHD output for monitoring and playback, high-refresh Full HD, 3D video, and multichannel audio up to Dolby TrueHD. That covers what Mini HDMI source devices actually output.
Aluminium-mylar foil with copper braid shielding
Two shield layers, which matter on a thin cable more than they sound: a camera HDMI feed frequently runs alongside a wireless transmitter, a monitor and a battery pack on the same rig, and shielding is what keeps the picture from breaking up.
Fully moulded with flexible strain relief
Mini HDMI connectors are small and the cable is flexed constantly on a camera rig or a handheld device. The moulded body and strain relief are what stop the connector fraying at the neck, which is the standard failure point on this connector type.
1 m — the useful length on a rig or a desk
Long enough to run from a camera body to a field monitor on the same cage or a tablet to a nearby display, short enough not to leave a loop of cable swinging where it can snag or torque the port.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Mini HDMI the same as Micro HDMI?
No, and this is the most common ordering mistake. Mini HDMI is Type-C and is the larger of the two small connectors; Micro HDMI is Type-D and is visibly smaller. Neither plug fits the other socket. Cameras and tablets use both depending on the model, so check the port on your specific device rather than the brand.
Will it do 4K at 60 Hz?
No. This is an HDMI 1.4b cable at 10.2 Gbps, which caps 4K at 30 Hz. That is the standard specification for Mini HDMI devices and matches what most cameras and tablets output over that port, but if your device genuinely outputs 4K 60 Hz you need an HDMI 2.0 or later Mini HDMI cable.
Can I use it to output from my camera to a monitor or recorder?
Yes — that is one of its main uses. It carries the camera’s HDMI output to a field monitor or external recorder at up to 4K 30 Hz. The 1 m length suits a camera cage or a desk, and the moulded strain relief is there because camera HDMI cables get flexed constantly.
Does it support HDR?
No. HDR over HDMI requires HDMI 2.0a or later signalling and this is a 1.4b cable, so HDR and HDCP 2.2 are outside its specification. It handles Deep Color and YCC601, which is what HDMI 1.4 devices use.
Singular Expert Insight
Mini HDMI is a connector people meet by accident — they buy a camera or a compact laptop, find the port is a size they have never seen, and need a cable that afternoon. Two things prevent a wasted purchase. Check whether the port is Type-C (Mini, the larger small one) or Type-D (Micro, the smaller), because they look similar in photographs and are not interchangeable. And set expectations on bandwidth: HDMI 1.4b means 4K at 30 Hz with no HDR, which is the right specification for the devices that actually have Mini HDMI ports and the wrong one if you were hoping for 4K 60. What matters in daily use is the build, because this connector fails at the neck when a cable is flexed on a rig — moulded strain relief and a proper braided shield are worth the difference over a bundled cable. Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You need to get video out of a device with a Mini HDMI (Type-C) port — DSLR, mirrorless camera, camcorder, tablet, compact laptop — onto a monitor, TV or projector at up to 4K 30 Hz.
Skip it if
Your device has a Micro HDMI (Type-D) port, or you need 4K 60 Hz, HDR or HDCP 2.2 — none of which an HDMI 1.4b cable provides.
