The StarTech.com CMLB104 is a pack of ten horizontal cable lacing bars for standard 19-inch server and network racks, each with a 102 mm (4 in) offset angled at 75 degrees, made for anyone who needs to anchor patch and power cables neatly behind switches, patch panels or servers.

A lacing bar is the simplest cable management part in a rack: it bolts across the rack rails and gives you a rigid rail to tie cables to with cable ties or hook-and-loop straps. The 75-degree offset holds the bundle away from the equipment ports, so connectors are not strained and airflow around the device stays clear. With ten bars in the box you can fit one behind every switch or patch panel in a small or medium rack.

• One bar per device: fit a bar directly behind or in front of each switch or patch panel and tie that device's cables to it.
• The offset keeps the cable bundle 102 mm away from the rack plane, which gives room for RJ45 boots and fibre connectors without sharp bends.
• Cable ties or hook-and-loop straps are not included — hook-and-loop straps are the better choice if you re-patch often.
• Each bar uses two cage-nut positions, so plan the bars before the rack is fully populated.

• Round-hole or threaded-hole racks that do not take M5 cage nuts — you would need matching screws instead.
• 10-inch racks and 23-inch telecom racks — the bars are 19-inch width only.
• Vertical cable management along the rack sides — these are horizontal bars; for vertical runs look at a D-ring vertical manager.
• They do not carry equipment weight; they are for cable restraint only.
