The StarTech.com CMVER20UD is a 20U vertical cable manager with D-ring hooks that mounts in the 0U space at the side of a server rack or cabinet, so you can route patch and power cables up and down the rack without giving up any rack units for equipment.
It is 864 mm (2.8 ft) long and StarTech.com rates it as compatible with most racks that are 20U or taller. It can be clipped tool-free into keyhole-shaped holes on the rack frame, or fixed with the supplied M4 screws and nuts to the horizontal mounting rails or other holes in the rack.
Before you order: The organizer needs a rack that is at least 20U tall and has space at the side of the mounting rails. Tool-less installation needs keyhole-shaped holes in the frame; otherwise use the supplied M4 hardware.

What It Means in Practice
- Cables run vertically to the level where they are needed, then cross over horizontally — the rack stays readable and ports stay accessible.
- 0U mounting means no loss of rack space: every U remains free for switches, patch panels and servers.
- Use one at each side to separate network cables from power cables.
- Install at the front or the rear of the rack, depending on where the cabling is heaviest.
What Will Not Work
- Racks shorter than 20U — the organizer is 864 mm long.
- Cabinets with no free space beside the 19-inch rails, where side-mounted cable management physically will not fit.
- Horizontal cable routing between patch panels and switches — pair it with a 1U horizontal manager such as the CABLMANAGERH.
