A single aluminium arm with two USB-A 5 Gbps ports built into the base, carrying 17 to 34 inch displays up to 8 kg. It lifts to 620 mm with 254 mm of toolless travel, reaches 514 mm, and turns the screen to portrait.

Compatibility — check before buying:
The USB is the reason to choose this arm, and it comes with one condition worth knowing before you order: the ports are pass-through, not a powered hub, and StarTech supplies no upstream cable. You need a USB-A cable from the base to your computer or dock — the manual lists it as optional and we can add one to your order. On size, StarTech’s own documents differ: the specification table says 17 to 34 inches while the manual says 15 to 34. We publish the specification’s 17 inch minimum. The mechanism is a mechanical spring with one-touch adjustment, not a gas cylinder, and tension is set with a screw at installation rather than pre-adjusted. Fixing is C-clamp or grommet, both for desks 10 to 50 mm thick; the grommet hole diameter is not published, so measure an existing hole and tell us. One more thing that catches people out: the near-identical ARMPIVOT2 has no USB ports, takes screens to 40 inches and carries a five-year warranty against this model’s two. They are different arms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do the USB ports need a cable I do not have?
Almost certainly yes. They are pass-through, so they extend a port on your computer or dock, and StarTech does not include the cable that feeds them. Tell us when you order and we will add a USB-A cable of the right length.
Can I charge a phone from them?
StarTech publishes no charging specification for these ports — they are documented as 5 Gbps data pass-through. If charging is what you want, a powered hub is the right product and we can supply one.
How is it different from the ARMPIVOT2?
More than the name suggests. The ARMPIVOT2 has no USB, takes screens up to 40 inches, is steel and plastic rather than aluminium, and carries a five-year warranty against this arm’s two. Same 8 kg capacity. Choose on whether you want the ports.
Is 34 inches really the maximum?
That is the published maximum size, but 8 kg is the limit that usually binds first — many 34 inch ultrawide panels weigh more. Send us the model and we will check the weight and the VESA pattern before you order.
Singular Expert Insight
Ports at the screen are a small daily convenience that people either want badly or not at all. If your computer lives under the desk or in a dock, having two sockets at eye level is worth real money; if not, the plain ARMPIVOT2 is the better arm on every other measure — longer size range, stronger materials and five years of cover instead of two. What you should not do is order this one expecting the ports to work out of the box, because the feeding cable is not in the carton. Tell us and we will include one. The rest of the arm is sound: a mechanical spring is less exciting than a gas cylinder but there is nothing in it to lose pressure.
