The StarTech.com J8177C10PKST is a pack of ten copper SFP modules that turn SFP ports into Gigabit RJ-45 ports, reaching up to 100 m on Cat5e or Cat6 cable. Each module is programmed as an HPE J8177C, so HPE switches such as the 1820, 2530 and 2620 accept it. In practice, a copper module is the quickest way to connect a nearby device that only has an RJ-45 port, without buying a media converter. Use fibre for anything beyond the copper reach shown in the table.

Compatibility — check before buying:
This article is ten modules; the single one is J8177CST. StarTech lists 1000 Mbps only — a 10/100 device at the far end will not link.
