The StarTech.com MDP2DVIMM6BS is a 1.8 m active cable that connects a Mini DisplayPort output (male) directly to a DVI-D monitor (24+1 pin male) at up to 1920 × 1200. Because it is active, it regenerates the signal and works with both DP++ (multimode) and single-mode DisplayPort sources.

It suits Mini DP-equipped PCs, Macs and MacBooks, Microsoft Surface Pro devices and workstation graphics cards, and also works from Thunderbolt ports that carry DisplayPort.

Compatibility note: Maximum resolution is 1920 × 1200 (single-link DVI) — it will not drive 2560 × 1440/1600 dual-link DVI monitors. StarTech.com states it is not compatible with Apple Cinema Displays.
