The StarTech.com CMHOOKMW is a 1.5U steel D-ring cable management hook with a 6 × 10 cm ring, for routing bundles of network and power cables vertically or horizontally in 2-post and 4-post 19" and 10" racks. A right-angled bracket with two sets of holes lets you mount it facing into the rack or out towards the front.
Unlike a full-width 1U panel, a single D-ring can go exactly where the cable run needs support: on the side rail next to a patch panel, at the edge of a 2-post relay rack, or at intervals down a vertical run.
StarTech.com lists the hook as 1.5U tall and conforming to EIA RS-310-D rack spacing. It ships with the two M5 screws and two M5 cage nuts needed to fit it.
Before you order: This hook is 1.5U tall and comes with M5 hardware. If your rack uses M6 cage nuts, fit it with your own M6 screws and nuts.

What It Means in Practice
- Space several hooks down the side of a rack to carry a vertical bundle from the patch panels to the switches.
- The 6 × 10 cm ring takes a sizeable bundle of patch cords — more than a single plastic ring on a 1U panel.
- Mount it facing out for front-of-rack patching, or facing in to guide cables towards the rear.
- On 2-post relay racks, hooks on both uprights keep cords off the floor.
What Will Not Work
- It is a single hook, not a full-width 1U panel — order several for long runs.
- The included hardware is M5; M6 racks need your own M6 screws and cage nuts.
- It has no cover or brush strip.
- It is not rated to carry equipment weight.
