The StarTech.com DVIVGAMFBK, part number DVIVGAMFBK, is a compact passive DVI-I to VGA adapter that lets you connect a VGA (HD15) monitor or projector to a DVI-I analog video source. It converts the analog signal carried on a DVI-I port into a standard VGA signal with no software, drivers or settings required — just plug in and use. Important — DVI-I source required
This is a passive adapter: it only works with a DVI-I (or DVI-A) port that outputs an analog signal. It will not work with a DVI-D (digital-only) output, because there is no analog signal to pass through. If your graphics card or device has a DVI-D port, use an active converter such as the StarTech DVI2VGAE instead. The DVI end is male; the VGA end is female.
