Targus 13–14″ Intellect® Slim Brief (TBS978GL)

13–14″ laptopsSlim profileWater-resistantShoulder strap

The Targus TBS978GL is the 13–14″ Intellect® Slim Brief: a thin, black laptop briefcase in water-resistant 600D polyester, with a padded compartment for a laptop of up to 14 inches, a zippered front pocket for charger and papers, and a removable shoulder strap. It weighs 0.36 kg and is 3.5 cm deep, so it carries the essentials for a working day without the bulk of a backpack, and slips into a larger bag or onto a desk without taking over.

Compatibility — check before buying:
This is the 13–14″ size. A 15″ or 16″ laptop will not fit; the same brief for those is TBS979GL. It is a slim brief with room for a laptop, charger and documents — not for a tablet plus a large accessory kit; Targus does not list a separate tablet pocket. Send us your laptop model and we check it against the published compartment size before you order.

Best For

✓ Office days with a 13–14″ laptop
✓ Meetings and client visits
✓ Hybrid workers
✓ Carrying laptop plus documents
✓ A lighter alternative to a backpack
✓ Students with ultrabooks

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a 15.6-inch laptop fit?
No. This is the 13–14″ size. The same Intellect Slim Brief for 15–16″ laptops is Targus TBS979GL — ask us for it.
Is it waterproof?
It is made from water-resistant 600D polyester, which handles light rain. It is not waterproof, so do not leave it out in a downpour.
Does it have a shoulder strap?
Yes. A removable, adjustable shoulder strap is included alongside the carry handles.
What is the warranty?
Singular gives 1 year directly. Targus lists 2 years on its UK site and a Limited Lifetime Warranty on its Australian site; we handle the manufacturer claim with you either way.
