TEAMGROUP ELITE A1 microSDXC 256GB — large V30 card for 4K video, phones and consoles
256GB microSDXCU3 · V30 · A1100/50 MB/sSD adapter included
The TEAMGROUP ELITE A1 256GB (TEAUSDX256GIV30A103) is a microSDXC memory card rated Class 10, UHS-I U3, V30 and A1, with up to 100 MB/s read and 50 MB/s write, for smartphones, tablets, handheld consoles, action cameras and drones that record 4K. An SD adapter is included for cameras and laptops with a full-size SD slot.
It is a capacity-first card: 256GB at a sensible price, with the V30 rating 4K devices ask for. The 50 MB/s write is comfortably above the 30 MB/s V30 minimum, but slower than premium cards when you shoot long bursts. Note the operating range of 0°C to 70°C — narrower than many rivals.
Before you order: An SDXC card (64 GB and larger): it needs a device that supports microSDXC — look for the logo or check the manual. Devices that support only SDHC (32 GB maximum, common in cameras, car radios and phones made before about 2011) cannot read it, even after formatting.
What's in the Box
- 1 × TEAMGROUP ELITE A1 microSDXC card, 256GB
- 1 × microSD-to-SD adapter
What It Means in Practice
- V30 / U3 means a guaranteed minimum sustained write of 30 MB/s — the rating most 4K cameras, drones and action cameras ask for.
- A1 (min. 1500 read / 500 write IOPS) means apps installed on the card in Android open and run at an acceptable speed.
- The up to 100 MB/s read figure is the maximum measured by TEAMGROUP with a fast host; in a USB 2.0 reader or an older device real speed is much lower.
- Usable capacity is a little below 256GB because part of the card is used for formatting and management — this is normal for every memory card.
- It comes formatted as exFAT. For best reliability, format it once in the device that will use it (camera, phone, recorder) before the first recording.
What Will Not Work
- Devices limited to SDHC (32 GB maximum) — they will not recognise the card.
- UHS-II speeds — this is a UHS-I card; UHS-II cameras and readers run it at UHS-I speed.
- Use below freezing (for example a dashcam or outdoor camera in winter conditions) — the rated operating range starts at 0°C.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it work in my device?
An SDXC card (64 GB and larger): it needs a device that supports microSDXC — look for the logo or check the manual. Devices that support only SDHC (32 GB maximum, common in cameras, car radios and phones made before about 2011) cannot read it, even after formatting.
Can I use it in a camera or laptop with a full-size SD slot?
Yes. Insert the card into the supplied microSD-to-SD adapter and use the adapter like a normal SD card. Keep the adapter lock switch in the unlocked position, otherwise the card is read-only.
Why does my computer show less than 256GB?
Card makers count 1 GB as 1,000,000,000 bytes while Windows and macOS count in binary units, and part of the card is reserved for formatting and wear management. A 256GB card therefore shows somewhat less — that is not a fault.
Will it work in a Nintendo Switch?
The Switch accepts microSDXC cards, so a 256GB SDXC card like this one is suitable for game storage; the console asks for a system update the first time an SDXC card is inserted.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
ELITE A1 is the value way to get 256GB with a V30 rating: good for game libraries, phone storage and occasional 4K. If you shoot long 4K sessions or high-bitrate drone footage, a card with a higher write speed saves time. Need a reader for it? See our
card readers.
✓ Buy it if you want a lot of space (games, media, 4K clips) in a microSDXC device at a good price per GB.
✕ Skip it if the card will work in sub-zero temperatures, or you need the fastest write speed for professional 4K.
→ Also consider PNY PRO Elite 256GB (up to 90 MB/s write, A2) for heavier 4K use.
