The TP-Link Omada SM5310-T is an SFP+ module with an RJ-45 port that runs at 10, 5, 2.5 or 1 Gbps, so a fibre switch can connect a server, NAS, access point or workstation over copper cable. At 10G it reaches 30 m on Cat6a; at 1–5G it reaches 100 m on Cat5e. Diagnostics report module temperature and voltage. In practice, a copper module is the quickest way to connect a nearby device that only has an RJ-45 port, without buying a media converter. Use fibre for anything beyond the copper reach shown in the table.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The 100 m reach applies only at 1–5G: at 10G the limit is 30 m and needs Cat6a or better. TP-Link does not list 100 Mbps, so a 10/100 device will not link through it. It needs an SFP+ port; TP-Link publishes a compatibility list for its own switches and notes that 1G use may need configuration on the switch. Not sure?
