TP-Link VIGI C430I 4 mm — 3MP IR turret Network Camera

3MP 2304×12964 mm · 83° HIR night vision up to 30 mPoE · ONVIF · H.265+

The TP-Link VIGI C430I with the 4 mm lens is a 3MP infrared turret network camera for businesses, shops and homes that want a wired, recorder-based CCTV system rather than a cloud gadget. This is the C430I — the infrared version — with a 4 mm lens covering about 83°. At night it switches to infrared and records in black and white up to 30 m, which is the most reliable way to see in total darkness without lights that attract attention. It is powered over the network cable from a PoE switch, records to a VIGI NVR or any ONVIF recorder, and is managed from the free VIGI app or VIGI Security Manager software. Part number VIGI C430(4mm) is the 4 mm version; the same camera is sold with other lenses, so check the field of view below before you order.

Compatibility — check before buying:
In the box: camera, quick start guide, mounting accessories. Not in the box: PoE switch or injector, 12 V power adapter, network cable, NVR. Power is not included: you need an 802.3af/at PoE switch or injector, or a 12 V DC adapter (5.5 mm plug). There is no memory-card slot — recording needs a VIGI NVR or another ONVIF recorder. It has no Wi-Fi; it needs a network cable to a switch. This is the C430I (infrared, black-and-white at night), not the C430 Full-Color. If you want colour night footage, order the VIGI C430 instead — the two look almost identical. TP-Link does not publish an IP rating for this turret, so for an exposed outdoor wall choose a bullet with IP67. Not sure it fits your setup? Tell us your router, switch or recorder model and we check it for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does it store recordings?
There is no memory-card slot on this model, so recordings go to a network video recorder or to software that supports ONVIF. If you build a small NVR system, pair it with surveillance hard drives made for 24/7 writing.
How do I power it?
Through the network cable from an 802.3af/at PoE switch or injector, or from a 12 V DC adapter. Neither is included. One cable for power and data is the neatest outdoor install; see our PoE switches if you do not have one yet.
Which lens should I choose?
The lens decides how wide and how far the camera sees. This 4 mm version covers 83° horizontally. The 2.8 mm C430I sees about 98° across; the 4 mm is better when you need faces or plates a little further away, with TP-Link rating identification at about 7 m. Once installed, the lens cannot be swapped, so pick by the area you need to watch.
Will I see colour at night?
No. The C430I uses infrared at night, so footage is black and white. It gives colour in daylight and in lit areas (down to 0.01 lux). For colour at night choose the VIGI C430, which adds white LEDs.
Singular Expert Insight
Choose the C430I when darkness is the norm and you do not want the camera lighting up the scene; choose the C430 Full-Color when identifying colours at night matters more. There is no card slot, so plan a VIGI NVR with surveillance hard drives, and power it from one of our PoE switches. Other models are in our IP cameras section.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You want a low-power 3MP PoE turret with discreet infrared night vision and a medium 83° view.

Skip it if

You need colour night footage (C430 Full-Color), two-way audio (C440) or local microSD recording.

Also consider

VIGI C430 4 mm Full-Color for colour at night; VIGI C340I (4MP IR bullet, IP67, 50 m IR) for outdoor walls.
