The TP-Link Omada SM6110-LR is a dual-rate SFP28 transceiver that runs 25GBASE-LR or 10GBASE-LR at 1310 nm over single-mode fibre up to 10 km, through a duplex LC UPC connection with digital diagnostics. TP-Link lists it for the SX6632YF at 25G and for the SG3428X and SG3452X at 10G, so one optic covers both generations of Omada uplinks. In practice, single-mode optics are the choice when a link leaves the building or runs several hundred metres: the OS2 fibre used by carriers and campus backbones carries the signal for kilometres with little loss. Before you order, confirm the fibre is single-mode at both ends and note the length and the number of patch panels on the way.
Compatibility — check before buying:
It needs single-mode fibre and an LR module at the far end running the same speed — a 25G port facing a 10G port settles at 10G only if both ends support it. It will not work on multimode fibre; TP-Link’s SM6110-SR is the 850 nm multimode version, and the TL-SM5110-LR is a 10G-only LR module. Keep the dust cap on until you connect the fibre, and clean both connector ends before every mating — dirt is the most common cause of a link that will not come up. Not sure?
