The TP-Link TL-WN822N is a 300 Mbps high-gain Wireless N USB adapter with two 3 dBi antennas and a 1.5 m USB cable, for the 2.4 GHz band. It connects with 802.11n at up to 300 Mbps; the cable lets you stand it on the desk, away from the PC case, for better reception. It has no Bluetooth. In practice it gives a desktop or laptop a working Wi-Fi connection through a free USB port, with no need to open the case — useful when the PC has no Wi-Fi, or its built-in Wi-Fi is too old or too weak for your router.

Compatibility — check before buying:
TP-Link is phasing this model out and names the TL-WN823N as its replacement. It is 2.4 GHz only, and Windows 11 is not in TP-Link’s published list for it — for a Windows 11 PC, check with us or choose the TL-WN823N. Not sure it suits your PC or router? Frequently Asked Questions

Does it have Bluetooth?
No. The TL-WN822N is Wi-Fi only. If you also need Bluetooth, ask us for an adapter that combines both.
Will I get the full 300 Mbps?
Not in daily use. 300 Mbps is the maximum link rate TP-Link quotes; real throughput depends on your router, the distance, walls and the USB port. A router of the same Wi-Fi generation gets the most out of it.
Which port does it need?
A standard USB-A port. It is a USB 2.0 device, so any USB-A port works, including USB 3.x ports. For a laptop with USB-C only, add a USB-C to USB-A adapter.
Which operating systems are supported?
TP-Link lists Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 and XP, Mac OS X and Linux. Windows 11 is not listed for the TL-WN822N.
