Managed industrial PoE+ with input-dependent power budgeting
8 × Gigabit PoE+2 × 100/1000 SFP240 W at 48 V inputExternal 24–57 V DC
The TRENDnet TI-PG103i combines eight Gigabit PoE+ ports and two 100/1000 Mbps SFP uplinks in a managed industrial DIN-rail switch. VLAN, QoS, access controls and monitoring help organise industrial and building networks. Its voltage-booster design supports external 24–57 V DC input, with the available PoE budget depending on the input voltage and supply.
Best For: Protected industrial cabinets needing managed Gigabit PoE+ access, fibre uplinks and external DC power.
Before you order: Power supply is separate. The shared PoE budget is 240 W at 48 V DC input or 124 W at 24 V DC input, with up to 30 W per port. Select a PSU that also covers switch overhead. IP40 provides no water protection. Optional TRENDnet Hive cloud management carries an additional fee and firmware requirements.
What's in the Box
- TI-PG103i switch and removable terminal block.
- DIN-rail mounting bracket.
- Suitable external PSU, SFP modules, fibre and copper cables selected separately.
- Hive cloud service is optional and paid separately.
What It Means in Practice
- Connect and power up to eight compatible IEEE 802.3af/at Gigabit endpoints within the actual shared budget.
- Select compatible 100 or 1000 Mbps fibre SFP modules for ports 9 and 10.
- Configure VLANs, LACP, spanning tree, QoS and access policies for the network.
- Use PoE scheduling/alive check, SNMP and alarms to monitor the installation.
What Will Not Work
- 24 V input provides 124 W shared PoE, not the 240 W figure specified at 48 V.
- External supply and redundant-source design are required; no built-in battery backup.
- IP40 is not suitable for direct rain exposure.
- Layer 2 management does not establish Layer 3 router/firewall functions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the power supply included?
No. Select a suitable external 24–57 V DC supply with capacity for the switch and actual PoE load.
Does 24 V input deliver 240 W PoE?
No. The manufacturer specifies 124 W at 24 V and 240 W at 48 V input.
Is Hive included?
Hive is an optional paid cloud service and compatible firmware is required. Local managed functions remain separately documented.
Are fibre modules supplied?
No. Choose compatible 100/1000 Mbps SFP modules and matching fibre separately.
Singular Expert Insight
Design power and traffic together. At lower DC input voltage the available PoE budget changes materially, so count actual endpoint demand before selecting the PSU. Redundant sources and alarm wiring help resilience, while VLANs and PoE recovery should be configured for the real devices rather than left as assumptions.
Buyer’s Guide
✓ Buy it if You need managed industrial Gigabit PoE+ with fibre uplinks and a planned external DC installation.
✕ Skip it if You need an included mains PSU, water protection or 240 W PoE from 24 V input.
→ Also consider Input voltage, supply headroom, PoE demand, SFP compatibility, grounding and optional cloud fees.
