Managed Gigabit connectivity for an industrial cabinet
4 × Gigabit PoE+120 W shared PoE2 × 100/1000 SFPDIN-rail IP40
The TRENDnet TI-PG743Bi is a seven-port industrial L2 managed switch with four Gigabit PoE+ outputs, one non-PoE Gigabit copper port and two SFP cages for compatible 100/1000 Mbps fiber modules. A 120 W shared PoE budget, local management and PoE alive checking support professionally planned camera, access-point and industrial network installations.
Best For: Industrial cabinets and managed networks needing four PoE+ devices, fiber links and DIN-rail mounting.
Before you order: A suitable DC power supply or adapter is sold separately. Use one 24–57 V DC source through the terminal block or four-pin DIN input: the inputs are not redundant. Size the supply for switch consumption and the intended PoE load, up to 134 W at full load. IP40 provides no water protection. Install and ground it appropriately and verify fiber-module compatibility.
What's in the Box
- TI-PG743Bi switch, removable terminal block and DIN-rail mounting bracket.
- DC supply or adapter, SFP modules, fiber, Ethernet cables and powered devices are separate.
What It Means in Practice
- Power up to four compatible PoE+ devices, each up to 30 W, within the shared 120 W budget.
- Use the additional copper port for a non-PoE Gigabit connection and the SFP cages for compatible 100/1000 Mbps fiber links.
- Configure VLANs, link aggregation, spanning tree and QoS for the actual network topology.
- Use PoE scheduling and alive checking where appropriate. Remote TRENDnet Hive management is an additional paid service.
What Will Not Work
- Seven total interfaces include only four PoE+ outputs.
- SFP cages are 100/1000 Mbps, not 10G SFP+.
- The two DC connector options do not provide redundant power.
- IP40 is not waterproof and does not make the switch suitable for exposed outdoor installation.
- No DC power supply or Hive subscription is included.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a power supply included?
No. The package lists the switch, terminal block and DIN bracket. Select a compatible supply or adapter for the intended load.
Are the DC inputs redundant?
No. The datasheet explicitly states that only one power source can be used for operation.
Does it provide 10G fiber?
No. Its SFP cages support compatible 100/1000 Mbps modules, not 10G SFP+.
Can it operate outdoors in rain?
No. IP40 has no water protection. Use an appropriate installation enclosure and follow the environmental requirements.
Is Hive cloud management free?
The manufacturer specifies an additional fee. Local management is available separately from the optional cloud service.
Singular Expert Insight
Plan the DC supply and enclosure before counting ports. This model provides four PoE+ outputs and two fiber cages, while its two power connectors are alternatives rather than a redundant pair. Correct power sizing, grounding and fiber selection are essential parts of the installation.
Buyer’s Guide
✓ Buy it if You need a managed industrial DIN-rail Gigabit switch with four PoE+ outputs and suitable separate DC power.
✕ Skip it if You need redundant power, 10G uplinks, included mains supply or waterproof exposed installation.
