10G powered access with four fibre uplinks and web management
8 × 10G PoE++4 × 10G SFP+720 W shared PoE1U rack, internal PSU
The TRENDnet TPE-7124SBF combines eight multi-speed 10GBASE-T PoE++ ports and four 10G SFP+ uplinks. Its 720 W shared PoE budget, web management and IPv4/IPv6 static routing suit demanding SMB access networks. Fast PoE, Perpetual PoE and PD alive check add useful power-control options.
Best For: Managed SMB racks with fast powered endpoints, compatible 10G aggregation and a substantial PoE requirement.
Before you order: Up to 90 W per copper port is a PSE rating within the 720 W shared budget. Choose compatible endpoints and suitable cabling; TRENDnet recommends Cat 6a or higher for 10GBASE-T. Perpetual PoE maintains power during switch reboot or firmware update, not a mains outage. Three smart fans mean this is not a fanless desktop switch.
What's in the Box
- TPE-7124SBF with internal AC power supply.
- Power cord 1.5 m, console cable 1 m and rackmount brackets.
- Compatible SFP/SFP+ modules, fibre/DAC links and Ethernet cables selected separately.
What It Means in Practice
- Connect eight powered copper endpoints at supported 100M/1G/2.5G/10G speeds.
- Use four compatible 1G/10G SFP+ links for uplinks or other required network connections.
- Configure VLANs, LACP, spanning tree, QoS and access policies through the web interface.
- Use static routing where appropriate and configure PoE scheduling/recovery functions for actual devices.
What Will Not Work
- No battery backup or continued power through loss of mains electricity.
- The separate console connector is not an additional Ethernet data port.
- Static routing does not replace a full WAN router/firewall.
- No included optical modules or silent/fanless operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Perpetual PoE provide UPS backup?
No. It maintains PD power during switch reboot/firmware update while input power remains available.
Are there twelve copper ports?
No. There are eight copper ports and four SFP+ ports, twelve network ports total.
Is it fanless?
No. It uses three smart fans, with maximum specified noise of 51.1 dBA.
Which cable is needed for 10GBASE-T?
TRENDnet recommends Cat 6a or higher; the endpoint must also support the required speed.
Singular Expert Insight
Separate power continuity from data continuity. Perpetual PoE can keep a camera or access point powered during a switch reboot, but forwarding can still be interrupted and mains loss needs separate UPS planning. Check PoE compatibility, cooling and the full 10G path before deployment.
Buyer’s Guide
✓ Buy it if You need managed 10G PoE++ copper access and four compatible SFP+ links in a rack.
✕ Skip it if You need silent fanless use, built-in UPS or a full WAN firewall.
→ Also consider PoE demand, 10G cabling, optics/DAC compatibility, fan noise, rack airflow and routing design.
