Five 2.5GbE connections in a compact fanless switch
5×2.5G RJ45Unmanaged plug-and-playFanless metal housing12V/1A adapter included
The TRENDnet TEG-S351 is a compact five-port 2.5GbE unmanaged switch for a desk or suitable wall installation. Its five RJ45 ports connect compatible 2.5G endpoints over Cat 5e or better cabling and also support 100Mbps and Gigabit devices. A fanless metal enclosure keeps fan noise out of the workspace, while the included external 12V/1A adapter supplies power.
Best For: Small offices and home networks adding a few 2.5GbE-capable PCs, NAS systems or other wired devices without switch management.
Before you order: There are five copper RJ45 ports only:no SFP/SFP+ slots,10GbE or PoE output. Any port used to link the switch to a router or another switch occupies one of the five. To achieve 2.5Gbps links, the connected network interface and cabling must support that rate. The 25Gbps figure is aggregate full-duplex switching capacity, not a single-port speed.
What's in the Box
- TRENDnet TEG-S351 V1 switch.
- External power adapter rated 12V DC1A.
- Ethernet cables, connected devices and wall fixings are not listed as supplied.
What It Means in Practice
- Place on a stable ventilated surface or use its wall-mount slots with appropriate separately selected fixings.
- Connect the supplied adapter to the DC input and a suitable mains outlet.
- Use Cat 5e or better cabling with 2.5GbE-capable devices for 2.5Gbps negotiation.
- Connect an uplink to the router or existing network using one of the five ports.
- Check link/activity LEDs and use appropriate routing, Wi-Fi or PoE equipment separately when needed.
What Will Not Work
- This unmanaged switch has no advertised configurable VLAN, routing or switch-management interface.
- It does not supply PoE power to cameras or access points.
- There are no fibre/SFP+ slots and no 10GBASE-T ports.
- A2.5G local connection does not increase an ISP line, storage device or remote endpoint beyond its own limits.
Key Features
Five multi-gigabit ports
Each RJ45 port supports 100Mbps,1Gbps and 2.5Gbps links with suitable connected hardware.
Quiet desktop use
Fanless cooling and a compact black metal housing suit nearby workspaces.
Simple setup
Unmanaged operation requires no switch configuration to establish ordinary Ethernet connections.
Flexible placement
Integrated underside keyhole slots allow appropriate wall installation, with separately selected fixings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it have an SFP+ uplink?
No. The exact model has five RJ45 ports and no SFP/SFP+ slot.
Will it power a PoE camera?
No PoE output is specified. Use a suitable separate power supply or PoE device.
How many devices can I connect after an uplink?
A single uplink uses one of five ports, leaving four for other wired devices.
Do I need new cabling for 2.5G?
The manufacturer supports Cat 5e or better. Cable condition, termination and the connected NIC still matter.
Is 25Gbps the speed of one port?
No. Each port is up to 2.5Gbps;25Gbps is aggregate full-duplex switching capacity.
Singular Expert Insight
Count uplinks as well as endpoints. A five-port model is useful for a small group, but one router link leaves four local connections. Confirm 2.5G support on both ends before replacing a switch, and choose a managed or PoE model when those functions are required.
Buyer’s Guide
✓ Buy it if You need a quiet five-port 2.5GbE unmanaged switch with its own power adapter.
✕ Skip it if You need PoE, SFP+,10G copper ports or configurable switch management.
→ Also consider The number of endpoints after the uplink, NIC speeds, Cat 5e+ cabling, power location and ventilation.
