The TRENDnet TC-P08C6AS is a 8-port Cat6A shielded patch panel for a wall, a desk side or anywhere there is no rack. It carries 8 shielded Cat6A RJ45 ports for 10 Gigabit, 110 IDC blocks colour-coded for T568A and T568B, gold-plated contacts and an 18 AWG grounding wire, in a compact SPCC steel housing that mounts on a wall. In practice every cable from the wall outlets is terminated once at the back and stays put, while short patch cords at the front connect the ports to your switch — so moving a desk or a phone is a one-cable change at the panel, not new cabling.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Check before buying: It is a wall-mount unit, not a 19″ rack panel. Shielding only helps with shielded cable (F/UTP, S/FTP) whose shield is terminated and the panel earthed; with UTP cable it works as a normal panel. The 12-port version is the TC-P12C6AS in the same housing. Not sure it suits your cabinet or cable? Send us the rack or cable type and we check it.

Planning Match the number of panel ports to your switch ports and allow one short patch cord per port; leave spare ports for future outlets.
Terminating Strip only as much jacket as needed, keep the pairs twisted up to the contacts and follow one wiring scheme (T568A or T568B) throughout the building.
Testing Test every run with a cable tester before patching it into the switch — it finds swapped pairs and poor terminations before users do.

Can I mount it in a rack?
No. It is a wall-mount panel for a wall, a desk side or anywhere there is no rack. It mounts on a wall with the screws supplied. If you have a 19-inch or 10-inch cabinet, ask us for the matching rack panel.
What tool do I need to terminate it?
A 110 punch-down tool for the 110 IDC blocks. No tool is included; screws and cable ties are.
Do I need shielded cable?
To benefit from the shielding, yes: use shielded cable (F/UTP or S/FTP), terminate the shield properly and earth the panel. With ordinary UTP cable it still works, but the shielding adds nothing.
Is it fast enough for my network?
It is rated up to 10 Gbps for 10 Gigabit Ethernet. The whole link — cable, outlets, patch cords — must be at least the same category to reach that speed. For 10 Gigabit over longer runs, the full link must be Cat6A.
