The TRENDnet TC-P12C6AS is a 12-port Cat 6A shielded wall-mount patch panel. It is made to be fixed to a wall, 0.5U high, so it needs no rack or cabinet. Installation cable is punched down on the back with a 110 or Krone punch-down tool, and the 12 RJ45 sockets on the front take ordinary patch cords, rated for 10 Gbit/s (10GBase-T). In practice it gives the cables coming from wall outlets and ceilings a fixed, labelled end point next to your switch, so that moves and changes are made with short patch cords at the panel instead of re-terminating installation cable.
Compatibility — check before buying:
It is a wall-mount unit, not a 19-inch rack panel — it has no rack ears. The ports are fixed and terminated with a 110 or Krone punch-down tool, which is not in the box. As a shielded panel it only gives its full screening with shielded cable and a grounded rack or earth point; TRENDnet supplies an 18 AWG grounding wire with it.
