The TRENDnet TC-P16C6AS is a 16-port Cat 6A shielded 19-inch 1U patch panel. It mounts in a 19-inch rack or cabinet and takes up 1U. Installation cable is punched down on the back with a 110 or Krone punch-down tool, and the 16 RJ45 sockets on the front take ordinary patch cords, rated for 10 Gbit/s (10GBase-T). In practice it gives the cables coming from wall outlets and ceilings a fixed, labelled end point next to your switch, so that moves and changes are made with short patch cords at the panel instead of re-terminating installation cable. When the network grows, you add a panel and a few patch cords rather than pulling new cable to every desk, and a clearly numbered panel makes it quick to find which outlet a fault or a new device is on.

Compatibility — check before buying:
This is the 16-port model — the 24-port version of the same shielded Cat6A panel is TC-P24C6AS. The ports are fixed and terminated with a 110 or Krone punch-down tool, which is not in the box. As a shielded panel it only gives its full screening with shielded cable and a grounded rack or earth point; TRENDnet fits an 18 AWG grounding wire with screw terminal. Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a special tool?
Yes. The installation cable is terminated on the back with a 110 or Krone punch-down tool, which is not included. If you order the panel with cable, tell us and we add a suitable tool.
Will it carry 10 Gbit/s?
Yes, when the whole link is Cat 6A. TRENDnet rates the panel Cat 6A, but the weakest part of the link sets the speed, so use Cat 6A installation cable and Cat 6A patch cords too.
Does it fit my rack?
It fits standard 19-inch racks and cabinets and takes up 1U. Send us the rack model if you want us to check depth and free space.
Does it need to be grounded?
Yes, for the shield to work. Connect the panel to the rack or building earth; TRENDnet provides an 18 AWG grounding wire with screw terminal for it. With unshielded cable the shield has no effect.
