TRENDnet TI-E100 — extend Gigabit PoE+ in harsh environments
+100 mIEEE 802.3at outputIP30 · DIN rail-40 °C to 75 °C
The TRENDnet TI-E100 is an industrial Gigabit PoE+ extender that adds another 100 m to an Ethernet link, so a camera, access point or sensor can be placed 200 m from the switch. It takes its own power from the PoE source and passes data and PoE+ on to the device — no local power supply is needed.
It accepts 15.4 W, 30 W or 60 W PoE input and delivers 15.4 W or 30 W at the output. The hardened IP30 metal housing mounts on a DIN rail or a wall, has a grounding point and works from -40 °C to 75 °C, with 6/8 kV ESD and 2 kV surge protection.
Before you order: Power budget falls with each hop. Two extenders reach 300 m with a 50 V source; three reach 400 m with a 56 V source. Output is limited to 30 W, so 802.3bt devices cannot be powered at the far end.

- DIN-rail and wall-mount kit
What It Means in Practice
- Install it in a cabinet or junction box at the 100 m point — no mains power is needed there.
- A 60 W (802.3bt) source upstream leaves more margin for a 25–30 W device at the far end.
- The -40 °C to 75 °C range suits outdoor cabinets, factories and transport sites.
- Gigabit with 9 KB jumbo frames and a 128 KB buffer keeps camera streams clean.
What Will Not Work
- It does not output more than 30 W.
- It cannot be powered from a DC adapter — it relies on PoE input.
- It is IP30, so outdoor use requires a weatherproof enclosure.
- It is not a managed switch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need its own power supply?
No. It is powered by the PoE input and passes PoE+ on to the device.
How far can I go?
200 m with one unit; up to 300 m with two units at a 50 V source or 400 m with three at 56 V.
Can it power an 802.3bt camera?
No. Output is limited to 30 W.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
For long PoE runs in hot, cold or vibrating locations, an industrial extender avoids running mains to a mid-point. Use a strong PoE source upstream and keep the far device within 30 W. For cameras to place at the far end, see our
IP cameras.
✓ Buy it if you need to go beyond 100 m with PoE+ in an industrial or outdoor cabinet.
✕ Skip it if the installation is indoors at room temperature — a standard PoE extender costs less.
→ Also consider a fibre media converter with local PoE for runs of several hundred metres.
