TRENDnet TI-F10SC — Industrial 100Base-FX Multi-Mode SC Fiber Converter, 2 km
10/100 RJ45 ↔ 100Base-FXSC multi-mode · 1310 nmUp to 2 km-40 to 75 °C · DIN-rail
The TRENDnet TI-F10SC is an industrial Fast Ethernet media converter that links a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port to 100Base-FX multi-mode fibre with an SC connector, for distances up to 2 km at 1310 nm. It is built for cabinets, plant floors, traffic and utility installations and outdoor enclosures, where ordinary office converters would not survive the temperature range or the electrical noise.
The unit sits in a metal housing rated for -40 °C to 75 °C, mounts on a DIN rail or a wall, and is powered from a 12–60 V DC supply through a removable terminal block. A DIP switch enables Link Fault Pass-through (LFP) so the equipment at both ends sees when the link is lost. The power supply is not included — it is normally the DIN-rail supply already in your cabinet.
Before you order: No power supply is included: you need a 12–60 V DC source (for example a DIN-rail power supply) wired to the terminal block. The fibre side is multi-mode, 100 Mbps, 1310 nm, SC duplex — the far end must be a matching 100Base-FX multi-mode port. It will not link to single-mode fibre or Gigabit fibre ports.
What's in the Box
- 1 × TRENDnet TI-F10SC industrial media converter
- 1 × removable terminal block (power)
- 1 × DIN-rail / wall mount kit
- Power supply and fibre patch cords are not included
What It Means in Practice
- Two TI-F10SC units, one per cabinet, make a 100 Mbps link of up to 2 km over a pair of multi-mode fibres.
- The wide temperature range means it can live in an outdoor street cabinet or next to machinery without a climate-controlled room.
- DC input from 12 to 60 V lets it share the cabinet's existing 12 V, 24 V or 48 V DC supply.
- Fibre isolates the two ends electrically — useful between buildings, poles or substations.
- LFP (DIP switch 1) passes a link failure through to the copper side so SCADA or NVR systems raise an alarm.
What Will Not Work
- It will not run from mains directly — a separate DC power supply is required.
- It will not work on single-mode fibre or at Gigabit speed.
- It does not supply PoE to the RJ45 port.
- It has no web or SNMP management.
- It will not work over a single fibre (it needs a duplex pair).

Frequently Asked Questions
Which power supply should I use?
Any regulated DC supply between 12 V and 60 V with enough capacity — TRENDnet offers DIN-rail supplies such as the TI-M6024 (24 V DC). Tell us your cabinet voltage and we will suggest one.
Can it link to my switch's SFP port?
Yes, if the switch has a 100Base-FX multi-mode 1310 nm SFP rated for your distance. A Gigabit SFP will not link.
Is it multi-mode or single-mode?
Multi-mode. TRENDnet specifies the TI-F10SC as a 100Base-FX multi-mode SC converter for up to 2 km; some distributor descriptions mention single-mode by mistake. For single-mode, choose the TI-F10S30.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
For harsh or remote locations the TI-F10SC is a safer choice than an office converter: wide temperature range, DC input and DIN-rail mounting match what is already in an industrial cabinet. Pair it with an
industrial switch or a second TI-F10SC at the far end, and remember to budget for a DC supply.
✓ Buy it if you need a 100 Mbps multi-mode fibre link up to 2 km in an industrial cabinet or outdoor enclosure with DC power.
✕ Skip it if you want a desktop unit with its own mains adapter, need Gigabit, or have single-mode fibre.
→ Also consider TRENDnet #OTHER# (industrial, single-mode SC, 2 km) or TI-PF11SFP (industrial SFP to Gigabit PoE+).
Send us your fibre type and distance plus the supply voltage in your cabinet, and we will confirm the converter and a matching power supply before you order.
