The TSC Alpha-40L (A40L-A001-1002) is a 4-inch direct thermal mobile printer that prints shelf labels, shipping labels, receipts and tickets at 203 dpi on media up to 112 mm wide, carried on a belt or shoulder strap by warehouse, retail, delivery and field staff.
This configuration connects over Wi-Fi (802.11ac), Bluetooth 4.2 and USB-C, has a passive NFC tag for tap-to-pair, a 2.3-inch colour LCD and the peel-off module for dispensing labels one by one. A 6200 mAh smart battery powers a full shift, and the printer is rated IP54 with 1.8 m drop resistance.
Before you order: This is the Wi-Fi + Bluetooth model. Your app or WMS must print in TSPL, ESC/POS or one of the emulated languages (ZPL2, EPL2, CPCL) — tell us your software and we will check before you order.

What It Means in Practice
- Print 4-inch shipping labels and shelf-edge labels where the work is done, instead of walking back to a desktop printer.

What Will Not Work
- It does not print on thermal-transfer (ribbon) media — direct thermal labels and paper only.
- Linerless media needs the separate linerless kit/version.
- Rolls larger than 67 mm outer diameter or wider than 112 mm will not fit.
- A protective case, extra batteries and charging cradles are not included.
