The Ubiquiti UniFi UACC-CM-RJ45-1G is an SFP module that turns an SFP port into an RJ-45 copper port, running at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps over up to 100 m of Ethernet cable. It lets a UniFi switch or gateway use a spare SFP slot for a camera, printer, access point or a WAN handover that only has an RJ-45 port. It draws at most 1.2 W and plugs in while the switch is running. In practice, a copper module is the quickest way to connect a nearby device that only has an RJ-45 port, without buying a media converter. Use fibre for anything beyond the copper reach shown in the table.
Compatibility — check before buying:
It is a 1G SFP module and supports 10/100 Mbps as well — the right choice for older devices and some ISP handovers. For 2.5G to 10G copper, take the UACC-CM-RJ45-MG instead; that one is SFP+ and does not list 10/100.
