Ubiquiti UniFi PowerAmp — 130 W per Channel Class D Amplifier with Dolby Atmos and Multi-Zone Streaming, in White
130 W x2 at 8 Ω / 260 W x2 at 4 ΩDolby Atmos and TrueHDHDMI eARC + 2 x RCA inUp to 32 units per system
The Ubiquiti UniFi PowerAmp is a Class D stereo amplifier built for the UniFi Play platform, combining genuine hi-fi power with network streaming and multi-zone control. It carries the part number UPL-Amp-W and is the white version. Each channel is rated at 130 W into 8 ohms at under 0.05 percent THD+N, or 260 W into 4 ohms, driving passive speakers through banana-plug terminals, with an RCA subwoofer output for a powered sub. Sources arrive over HDMI eARC or two RCA analogue inputs, and the amplifier decodes Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus alongside PCM. AirPlay, Spotify Connect and Soundtrack Your Brand stream directly to it over two Gigabit Ethernet ports or dual-band Wi-Fi, and a 1.43-inch touchscreen rotary knob handles local control. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This unit is mains powered, not PoE — universal AC input, 100 to 240 V at up to 2.5 A, 50/60 Hz. Do not confuse it with the UniFi PoE Audio Port, which is the small PoE streamer in the same family. Speakers are not included: the PowerAmp drives passive speakers through banana-plug terminals, so plan for a pair rated to match 130 W at 8 ohms or 260 W at 4 ohms. The subwoofer output is line-level RCA and needs a powered subwoofer. Setup and control run through the UniFi Play application for iOS and Android, version 1.0.0 or later; this is a UniFi Play device rather than a generic AV receiver, and it has no on-screen menu system, remote handset or HDMI video switching. Note also that Ubiquiti publishes a 17 W maximum power consumption figure, which is inconsistent with a 2.5 A AC input on a 130 W per channel amplifier — treat 17 W as a typical or idle value and size your circuit from the AC rating instead. At 2.4 kg and 217 x 236.8 x 63.7 mm it is a desktop or shelf unit; Ubiquiti does not list a rack or wall mount.

✓ Multi-zone audio in homes, offices and hospitality venues
✓ Driving passive bookshelf or ceiling speakers properly
✓ Living rooms connecting a television over HDMI eARC
✓ Sites already running UniFi that want audio on the same platform
✓ Shops and cafes streaming Soundtrack Your Brand
✓ Systems that will grow to several amplified zones over time
Key Features
130 W per channel Class D power
Each channel delivers 130 W into 8 ohms at under 0.05 percent THD+N, or 260 W into 4 ohms at under 0.09 percent. That is real amplifier power rather than the modest output of a streaming speaker, and it means the PowerAmp can drive full-size passive speakers to convincing levels in a large room.
Dolby Atmos over HDMI eARC
The HDMI eARC input accepts Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and PCM formats straight from a television, so film soundtracks reach the amplifier intact. Two RCA analogue inputs handle turntables with a phono stage, CD players and anything else with line outputs.
Streaming and multi-zone for up to 32 units
AirPlay, Spotify Connect and Soundtrack Your Brand stream directly to the amplifier, and up to 32 PowerAmps can be networked together for multi-zone distribution across a building. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports allow a wired daisy-chain, with dual-band Wi-Fi as an alternative.
Touchscreen rotary control and a subwoofer output
A 1.43-inch touchscreen built into the aluminium rotary knob gives volume, source and zone control at the unit itself rather than only in the app. An RCA subwoofer output lets you add a powered sub for low-end extension in a larger room or a cinema setup.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the PowerAmp powered over Ethernet like the rest of the UniFi range?
No. Despite sitting in the same UniFi Play family as the PoE Audio Port, the PowerAmp takes universal AC mains input at 100 to 240 V, up to 2.5 A. A 130 W per channel amplifier needs far more power than PoE can deliver. The two Gigabit Ethernet ports carry data only.
What speakers do I need?
Passive speakers, connected to the banana-plug terminals. Choose a pair whose power handling matches the amplifier: 130 W per channel into 8 ohms, or 260 W per channel into 4 ohms. Powered or active speakers are not suitable here — for those you want the UniFi PoE Audio Port instead, which provides line-level outputs.
Can it replace an AV receiver for a home cinema?
Partly. It decodes Dolby Atmos, TrueHD, Digital and Digital Plus over HDMI eARC and drives a stereo pair plus a powered subwoofer, which suits a two-channel or 2.1 television setup very well. It is not a full multi-channel receiver: there is no HDMI video switching, no surround speaker outputs beyond the stereo pair, and no on-screen menu or remote handset.
Why does Ubiquiti list only 17 W maximum consumption?
That figure appears in Ubiquiti’s specification alongside a 2.5 A AC input rating, and the two are not consistent for an amplifier of this output. In practice 17 W looks like a typical or idle draw rather than the consumption at full power. When planning circuits or a UPS, work from the 100 to 240 V, 2.5 A input rating rather than the 17 W figure.
Singular Expert Insight
The PowerAmp is the piece that makes UniFi Play a real audio system rather than a streaming gadget. 130 W per channel into 8 ohms is proper amplifier power — enough to drive decent passive speakers in a large living room or a shop floor — and the HDMI eARC input with Dolby Atmos decoding means it handles television sound as competently as it handles Spotify. For a venue that wants several amplified zones under one app, being able to network up to 32 of them is the practical advantage over buying separate amplifiers and streamers per room. Two honest notes. It is mains powered, which surprises people who assume everything with a UniFi badge runs on PoE. And it is a stereo amplifier with a subwoofer output, not a multi-channel AV receiver — excellent for 2.0 or 2.1, not a replacement for a 5.1 system. Look at our

Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You want genuine 130 W per channel amplification for passive speakers, Dolby Atmos over HDMI eARC from a television, and AirPlay or Spotify Connect streaming, all managed as part of a multi-zone UniFi Play system.
Skip it if
You need a full multi-channel AV receiver with HDMI video switching and surround outputs, you have active or powered speakers, or you were expecting a PoE-powered unit.
Also consider
The UniFi PoE Audio Port if your speakers are already powered and you only need a streamer, or the black version of this same PowerAmp if white does not suit the room.
