What It Means in Practice
- Choose an M.2 NVMe SSD in one of the supported lengths: 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 or 22110.
- Installation involves removing the cover, positioning the mounting point for the SSD length, removing the thermal pad protective films, fitting your SSD, replacing the cover and inserting the tray into a compatible host slot.
- Host link limits differ: UCG-Max, UCG-Fiber and UNAS-Pro-8/4 operate at PCIe Gen3 x2 per NVMe; UNAS-4 operates at PCIe Gen2 x1 per NVMe. No ENAS link speed is specified.
What Will Not Work
- M.2 NVMe only; M.2 SATA compatibility is not claimed.
- Supported hosts: UCG-Max, UCG-Max-NS, UCG-Fiber (30W), UNAS-Pro-8, UNAS-4, UNAS-Pro-4 and ENAS.
