Ubiquiti UniFi Siren PoE — All-Weather 110 dB Alarm with RGBW Emergency Lighting, Over a Single Cable
110 dB alarm outputRGBW system LED and light ringPoE powered, 5 W maxIP56, -30 to 50 °C
The Ubiquiti UniFi Siren PoE is an all-weather alarm and emergency light for UniFi Protect systems, delivering a 110 dB siren alongside an RGBW LED ring that can flood an area with coloured light when an event triggers. It carries the part number UP-Siren-PoE (EAN 0810177162117) and runs entirely over a single Ethernet cable — Power over Ethernet supplies it at a maximum of 5 W, so there is no separate mains feed to install. The enclosure combines aluminium alloy and polycarbonate, measures 139.9 x 139.9 x 35 mm and weighs 308 g, mounts to a wall or ceiling with the included plate, and is IP56 rated for use from -30 to 50 °C. It is configured and triggered entirely from UniFi Protect, and includes a tamper switch. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is a UniFi Protect device, not a standalone alarm. It needs a UniFi Protect application running on a UniFi console or NVR to be adopted, configured and triggered — it will not sound on its own, it has no keypad, and it cannot be wired into a conventional third-party alarm panel. If you do not run UniFi Protect, this is the wrong product. Power is PoE only: there is no DC input and no mains connection, so it must be fed from a PoE switch or injector, which is not stated as included — check your switch has a spare PoE port before ordering. The network port is 10/100 Mbps, which is ample for a siren but means it should not be daisy-chained into anything needing gigabit. The IP56 rating covers dust ingress and powerful water jets but not immersion, so avoid positions where water can pool around it. Finally, note that 110 dB is genuinely loud — consider neighbours and local noise regulations when siting it outdoors.
Best For
✓ UniFi Protect sites that need an audible deterrent
✓ Warehouses, yards and car parks needing outdoor-rated alarm
✓ Shops and offices adding an alarm to an existing camera system
✓ Installations where running a separate mains feed is impractical
✓ Sites wanting coloured light signalling as well as sound
✓ Locations exposed to weather from -30 to 50 °C
Key Features
110 dB alarm output
A 110 dB siren is loud enough to be an active deterrent rather than a notification — comparable to a car horn at close range. In a UniFi Protect system it can be triggered automatically by camera detections or manually from the app, turning passive recording into an immediate response.
RGBW system LED and light ring
Two separate lighting elements, a system LED and a light ring, both capable of red, green, blue and white output. That allows coloured alert signalling for different event types as well as plain white emergency illumination of the area around the unit.
Powered and controlled over one Ethernet cable
Power over Ethernet supplies the unit at a maximum of 5 W, so a single Cat cable carries both power and control. There is no mains wiring to run and no electrician needed for the siren itself — a considerable saving on an outdoor or high-level installation.
IP56 weatherproofing in an alloy and polycarbonate body
The enclosure mixes aluminium alloy with polycarbonate and is IP56 rated against dust and powerful water jets, operating from -30 to 50 °C. A tamper switch reports interference back to UniFi Protect, and a factory reset button is provided for re-adoption.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the UniFi Siren without a UniFi Protect system?
No. It is a UniFi Protect device and must be adopted into a UniFi Protect application running on a UniFi console or NVR. There is no local keypad, no standalone alarm logic and no dry-contact input for a third-party panel. If you do not already run UniFi Protect, you need a console alongside the siren.
How is it powered?
Entirely by Power over Ethernet, at a maximum of 5 W, through its single 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port. There is no DC barrel jack and no mains connection, so you need a spare PoE port on a switch, or a PoE injector. Ubiquiti does not state that an injector is supplied, so plan for one if your switch is not PoE capable.
Can it be mounted outdoors?
Yes. It is IP56 rated, which covers dust ingress and water projected in powerful jets from any direction, and it operates from -30 to 50 °C, so Cyprus summer temperatures are within specification. IP56 does not cover immersion, so avoid any position where water could pool around the unit.
How loud is 110 dB in practice?
Very loud — broadly comparable to a car horn heard from a couple of metres away, and well above the level at which prolonged exposure becomes harmful. That is the point of an alarm siren, but it means siting matters: keep it away from windows of occupied rooms, consider neighbouring properties, and check local noise regulations before fitting it externally.
Singular Expert Insight
Most UniFi Protect installations are purely passive — the cameras record what happened, and you look at it afterwards. A siren changes that: an intruder who hears 110 dB and sees an area flood with light usually leaves before anything is taken, which is worth more than better footage of the theft. The engineering choice that makes this practical is PoE. Because the unit draws only 5 W and needs no mains feed, you can put it high on a wall or under a soffit with one Cat cable, which is the difference between a half-hour job and calling an electrician. Two things to confirm before ordering: that you have a spare PoE port, since an injector is not stated as included, and that you actually run UniFi Protect, because this device does nothing on its own. Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You run UniFi Protect and want to turn a recording-only camera system into one that actively deters intruders, with a loud outdoor-rated siren and coloured emergency lighting that installs on a single PoE cable.
Skip it if
You do not run UniFi Protect, you need a siren for a conventional third-party alarm panel, you have no PoE available, or the mounting position could be submerged rather than just rained on.
Also consider
The Ubiquiti wireless SuperLink siren if running an Ethernet cable to the position is impractical, or a UniFi Protect camera with a built-in floodlight and speaker if you want deterrence and recording in one unit.
