The Ubiquiti USL-Environmental is a white, battery-powered connected-building sensor that detects water leaks, temperature, humidity and ambient light. It communicates over proprietary SuperLink and requires a separate SuperLink Gateway and UniFi Protect system; an optional external water-leak probe is sold separately.

Best For: Suitable for monitoring water leaks and ambient conditions in a connected building where a SuperLink Gateway and UniFi Protect system are already available or can be added. It is not an entry, glass-break, smoke or CO detector, camera, gateway or water shutoff valve.
Before you order: A separate SuperLink Gateway and UniFi Protect web or mobile system are required. The external water-leak probe is optional and not included. The CR123A battery and mounting items are included. IPX5 does not mean immersion protection, guarantee flood prevention or provide automatic water shutoff; the stated 2 km range and up-to-6-year battery life depend on deployment, environment and use.

What It Means in Practice

  • The guide shows floor placement to expose the built-in water contacts, as well as magnet attachment or adhesive/screw mounting of the plate.
  • The 3.5 mm AUX TRS/TS jack is for an optional water-leak probe, not audio; the probe and its cable are not included.
  • Plan for a separate SuperLink Gateway and UniFi Protect web or iOS/Android system. The sensor itself uses one included 3 V CR123A battery and does not require mains or PoE power.
  • Keep the sensor within −20 to 40 °C and 10–90% non-condensing humidity. IPX5 is not immersion protection.

What Will Not Work

  • A separate SuperLink Gateway and UniFi Protect system are required; the sensor communicates through proprietary SuperLink.
  • The optional external water-leak probe is not included; the 3.5 mm jack is not an audio connection.
  • IPX5 does not protect against immersion. The sensor does not guarantee flood prevention or automatically shut off water.
  • The 2 km range and up-to-6-year battery life are conditional maximum figures, not guaranteed results.
