It is the cost-effective 100G choice for campus backbones beyond multi-mode reach: PSM4 optics are simpler than LR4 wavelength-multiplexed modules, provided your fiber plant has MPO-12 single-mode trunks. Compatibility note: Requires an MPO-12 Type B (crossover) APC single-mode trunk — the angled APC polish is mandatory; a UPC MPO cable will not seat correctly and degrades the link. Fits Ubiquiti QSFP28 100G ports (e.g. Enterprise Campus Aggregation). Install one module at each end of the run.
